Keeping the camera angle fixed as I loop a Citabria

I wish we could of had you come out to XCOR. Some of the early Mk1 trajectories were basically a hammerhead stall at 150kft. The simulator was a blast to fly.

My uncle took me up in one of those , by the time he was done it pretty much ruined rollercoasters for me .

Fun fact: Citabria is Airbatic spelled backwards (not telling you, you’re flying one)

The lens makes it look like you're sitting in a glass pod in a high orbit. Nice steady loop.

Can confirm that Scott Manley has entered a nominal orbital trajectory around me.

Nice and easy!

The camera lens makes the prop look like a Cuisinart blade.

Flying safe with style.

🤘😎🤘

Take me for a ride!

Awesome views 😎👍

Damn, already doing loops??? How normal is it for a pilot to do at least one loop like that in their lifetime?

So manly of you

I was wondering how in the world this happened 🤔

You almost look like a Kerbal from this angle.

This lens makes it looks like you are on a tiny parachute with motor

Your just having fun nowadays

So cool! What a rad angle!

Line up on a road, entry speed then pull G while applying right rudder. Transition to the left wing, as you fly over the top and relax back pressure so you make a circle not an L. As horizon comes back into view switch back to nose, as A/S builds apply some left rudder. .

i hope you are okay

Very nicely done. Both the loop and the camera rigging :)

The first 1,500 hours are the most dangerous for new pilots.

Nice work! It's awesome seeing you in the sky! \m/

Prograde or retrograde?

The Citabria is a great plane to fly. My introduction to tail wheel aircraft.

Are you authorized to loop already, sir ?

The only authorization is flying an appropriate aircraft.

Hmmmm. So we are becoming anarchists now, eh ? 😆

Where was this taken?

Looks a hell of a lot different than when I did it with a sony handicam mounted to the dash back in ‘94.

Do you know why it's called a Citabria?

Fly safe, Scott!

Cool Man, ~4G?

Is it still a 4g pull? Haven’t done that in almost 20 years :)

let's baptize this as the Manley Orbit Maneuver

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ✈️

fun with cameras
