By the way, to commemorate Kenneth Williams recent centenary, BBC Radio 4 Extra produced a "Centenary Celebration" featuring highlights from Kenneth's incredibly eclectic radio career. For some reason it passed me by when first broadcast, so I'm glad I found it. And it isn't just Round the Horne and Just a Minute. There's, The Secret Life of Kenneth Williams, R.D. Wingfield's fantastical tale in which Kenneth plays a secret agent version of himself, as well as Big and Little, a series of stories written for very young children starring Kenneth and Roy Kinnear. Seriously, it's an amazing selection and there's over five hour's worth! It's called THE VERSATILE VOICE OF KENNETH WILLIAMS: A CENTENARY CELEBRATION, and can be found on BBC SOUNDS. Good day.

I can’t believe it’s been 40 years since we recorded the Band Aid single. I remember it as if it were yesterday, and what an amazing day it was! Being in the studio with so many incredible artists was fantastic, and the camaraderie and fun amongst us was pretty special.

I know it's just one play, but I see too much of this on Kenneth Walker's tape. To kick ass in this scheme you have to have an instinctive feel for where to go, but you also have to have vision. This is an example of Walker lacking that. MASSIVE lane that's sliding to this left, and yet he appears to almost run directly into the one clump of defenders instead of just taking it north/south and hitting it as hard as he can. The creator on this piece of footage (shoutout to Saturday Morning Inspection) says "good finish, good run" and yet it could/should have been SO much more. A 5 yard run could have been 10 yards, 15, or much more. He's not a Seahawks in 2026. Period.

A little fact that some folks may not know about the song American Woman. It was originally sung by the band The Guess Who and was covered in 1999 by Lenny Kravitz. Many may not be aware that writers for the song and original performers of it happened to be Canadian. The single was released in March of 1970, making it 66 years old! Another fun fact about the song - it was actually written on the fly, on stage, and could have been lost forever had it not been for a teenager in the audience who was taping the live show bootlegging the show.

Bong Joon Ho on the meaning of "The Host" (2006) & what makes a good movie similar to a tasty Pizza: "BJH: If you look up 'Host' in the dictionary there are various meanings. One is as you just said in terms of the virus. A host is the opposite of the word of parasite. But if you were to expand on that here in the film, the central focal point of the film is the protagonists family. This loser family. Whatever is tormenting this family, that is making life hard for them or oppressing them, you could say that whoever, whatever is not helping them on the whole--its a host of all those things. It could be the creature itself, it could be the system that doesn't help this family, Korean society, America, a wide spectrum of meaning for the host. Interviewer: The movie plays very well as an entertaining monster movie but it also has a social commentary. What do you like about mixing those elements? BJH: When you say mixing together it could almost be heard as these things are so different elements or different from each other but just like you mix all these different ingredients and toppings to make a very tasty pizza. I feel that a film needs to be that way too. So instead of distinguishing between these things it could be like an exciting monster movie and at the same time have political comments and satire. And for that to work I believe you need something as a focus point and like I said before its the family. This family fighting against the monster, being repressed and tormented by the state and society, the thing that ties everything together is the family."
