They described small disc shaped craft and beings nearby. This wasn’t one kid that was nuts, It was many children at the same time. They all described the same things. Teachers didn’t see it themselves, made the credibility low. Adults eventually stepped in. The kids were questioned, interviewed, asked to draw what they saw. My husband and I adopted a 10.5 year old dog. Not because we were looking for another dog, but because she sat at the shelter for 3 months without a single person inquiring about her or meeting her and we didn’t want her dying alone. She wasn’t with a rescue but people in the rescue community were networking her because she was the sweetest and was every shelter volunteer’s favorite dog. They would even let her hang out in the office with them. I heard about her and the next day we went to meet her and adopted her. She was covered in ticks when we brought her home, and it took a lot of vet visits, treatments, trial and error, and patience to finally heal her from it. There were moments where it felt overwhelming, but she was worth every bit of effort. We weren’t sure how long she would live but we didn’t care, because it wasn’t about us, it was about her. Thankfully she was with us for three years and passed just two months ago at 13.5 years old, which is ancient. She was an amazing dog and I loved her just as much as all my other dogs. Seniors are the best and they’re just as deserving of a loving home as any other dog. 📹treatsnatcher

Back at my mom’s house I was sitting in the living room playing video games in my my underwear, I was around 12 years old and ever body was working until about 5pm so I still had a few hours before anybody was there. I usually kept the doors locked but the front door wasn’t locked, I just didn’t know that yet. I walked into the kitchen to grab a snack and a drink. I didn’t know that a family of three people just walked into the house. I came back holding a bag of chips and a drink and I saw two people standing there and another one just sitting on the couch like they were supposed to be there. My 12 year old brain couldn’t comprehend what was happening and I ran out of the house and to the neighbors house. I finally calmed down and told her what was happening, she grabbed her husband and went over there, I’m surprised they didn’t call the police first. The people in the house told the neighbor that they were friends of my dad and they were visiting from Pittsburgh. My neighbor called my dad at the restaurant and confirmed he knew them. He ended up leaving the restaurant and coming back early. His friends confused what days he was off from work and decided to come by and visit unannounced. He also told them it wasn’t a good idea to just walk in and that even though they were friends they should always knock on the door. I had never met these people before so I thought it was some kind of home invasion, it scared me. But from that point on I always made sure the doors were locked and that I was dressed decently just in case of unexpected visitors.

At 54, here’s something I think about a lot: The good old days don’t feel like it at the time. It feels more like struggle. From the age of 25 to 45, you’re in the thick of it—building a career, raising kids, trying to get ahead (or just keep up with life). It’s so easy to lose perspective and forget that… You’re in the sweet spot. One day you’ll look back on that struggle as the best of times. Every season of life has its pros and cons—triumphs and challenges—but there’s nothing quite like the prime adult years. So what are we to do about it? Simply recognize that you’re living your good old days right now. Slow down. Savor it. Smell the roses. Because I’m here to tell you… The days are long, but the years fly by. 🎥: First flight for my younger daughter. I thought I was climbing the mountain—little did I know I was standing on the peak.

The shelter manager stopped us right before we walked into the kennel area and said quietly, “If you take the male out for a walk, don’t shut the door on the female. She’ll panic and could hurt herself trying to reach him.” We had arrived planning to adopt just one dog. Our farmhouse has a large yard, but we also have a budget to think about. Then we saw them — two massive, long-haired German Shepherds pressed tightly together in a small kennel. Their names at the shelter were Rex and Luna. A volunteer gently shared their story. They had already been returned twice, not because they were aggressive — in fact, they were incredibly gentle and affectionate. The real issue was how strongly they were attached to each other. If one of them left the room, the other would cry and panic as if something terrible had happened. The shelter was running out of space and had started discussing the possibility of separating them permanently to make adoption easier… even though everyone knew it would devastate them. I stood there watching Rex carefully place his large chin across Luna’s back. Both dogs were shaking slightly, aware that people were studying them and deciding they were simply “too much.” My husband looked at me, then back at the two nervous dogs clinging to each other. He didn’t ask about the cost. He didn’t hesitate. He just walked over to the wall and picked up two leashes. “We’re not the kind of people who split up a family,” he said. So now our house is a little more chaotic. Our vet bills doubled, our bed barely belongs to us anymore, and 140 pounds of fluffy German Shepherds somehow manage to take up every inch of space. What the hell does Quant actually do? A model is trained in BF16, released in Q8, and we use Q4 because we're told 'its nearly lossless'. Fine, but I was curious about the 'nearly' part, what is actually being lost between BF16 all the way down to Q2? As always, its complicated. Needed a way to visualize the loss, so I had a Qwen 3.8 27B BF16 create a paragraph then had every quant below it do the same and marked the mutations. When a model writes a word, it assigns 'how sure' percentage to each. For example, 'The weather tomorrow is *windy*, a model is 90% sure all the words are correct except the windy part, since it can also be sunny, cold, hot, cloudy, etc. Any words a BF16 model was 90% sure of, every quant down to Q2 rarely changes it. On the other hand, any word that it was only 40~50% sure of, such as windy in our example, are the types of data that gets impacted by the quant process. Okay so what, some words changed, how does this impact anything? I set out to find out, and its all below if you are just as weird as I am about these things.

Long day boys. There’s a little town beside Kerrville called Center Point that was completely destroyed by the flood. They have one volunteer fire department that was caught in the water, carrying away every piece of emergency equipment they have. Dudes barely got their fire trucks out. They managed to clean it out best they could and make it their base of operations for search and rescue. We linked up with them and searched the riverbanks for bodies all day. Great bunch of amazing men and women. We got them a generator, water, and energy drinks to keep things pumping, but they still need some help. Currently talking to the people in charge to figure out what they need exactly and I’ll relay that back in this thread.

NEW YORK thank you for showing me so much love! People had nasty things to say for weeks just for it to sell out and turn out amazing. I haven’t released music in a long time but this definitely motivated me to get back outside. Thank you to all artists who came out during my set and all of the other amazing artists on the line up… WE DID THAT!! Don’t pay attention to the negativity, when the hate don’t work they start telling lies. I’m on a high right now.

I have a little robot that unlocks my door from the inside (so I don't have to carry a key) The problem was it wouldn't calibrate on my door. It was designed for 90° turns, but my lock only needs 15° In the past, this would've been a showstopper But I asked AI if it could help... At first, it suggested I snoop on the bluetooth connection to figure out the protocol Then it realized that we could probably just decompile the app's SDK and read its source code. That worked! It told me to switch to my mac and run some python for it. Unfortunately, it couldn't run the scripts directly because Claude Code Desktop didn't have bluetooth permissions, but my shell did. Thinking about it now, I probably should've used Claude Code or Codex in the Terminal. Anyways, it took a while, lots of backs and forths, we had some misunderstandings, it was massively overcautious in the beginning, but we finally got the lock calibrated! Feels like magic! I threw the repo up on github in case anyone in the future (ie me) runs into a similar issue – hopefully it can save them some time

Was this “racist”? New York Governor Kathy Hochul : “Young black kids growing up in the Bronx who don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ is,” I don’t see it as being racist. I don’t think she meant to use the word computer, but in an effort to not hang on the word, she just threw out a word like computer. Saying that a lot of people of a certain race who are less well off in the Bronx don’t have a strong vocabulary isn’t racist in my opinion. It’s pointing out the socioeconomic dynamic of the area and how it impacts education based on race. Her intentions are to make sure these people get a better education. Stop concentrating on the wrong things and start trying to solve the problems.

I’ve had a few questions today that have been asked multiple times. I thought I’d put the answers out here in case anyone else has the same questions. Yes Candace is going “away” with George on vacation. She didn’t say where. Yes they are moving in a “couple weeks”. (Maybe they are finally moving to Russia). No she didn’t donate the 300k. She said she earned the money. The first thing she did with it was eat at Waffle House. She may give some to the church and her sister. Yes, she was invited to the memorial but not as a speaker. She says she wouldn’t go because Trump and the Feds were arranging it and she didn’t feel safe because too many people were asking if she was. I think it was because she wasn’t asked to speak.
