kh3 did it better tho?

Went from a glorified qte (still goated af tho) to something u actually had to engage with so ofc they don’t like it

first crowd to complain ab attractions taking away player agency (for good reason) wont understand why id prefer this

Ngl wouldn’t be surprised if most never even did the remind data fights, let alone on critical

@killdeaaronfox Main story event vs optional data fight, big sigh indeed

@killdeaaronfox Still doesn’t change my point

reheated kh2 nachos a decade later without the part that made it cool in the first place but its somehow better in your opinion

as much as i'll rave about remind being probably the best section of kh content ever this is just not better man

This does a decent job of integrating the dome into an actual fight but I wouldnt say this is better. Sometimes a moment is more about the spectacle than the gameplay. KH2s dome is just way cooler in that you have Sora and Riku actively moving around, blocking from all sides.

Naw man, KH3 was kinda cool but the original had aura. Riku was there, the lasers slowly get faster, the camera angles. It was too much for my 10 year old mind.

They're... they're different? One is a set piece to the culmination of a major journey for Sora and Riku, and this one is a reprise in actual combat of a returning threat, which also helps emphasize how much more skilled Sora is. Like, neither are better or worse.

I cant imagine actually looking at this and saying it's better.

This opinion isn’t invalid, but when the person who’s saying this shows a clip where they are unaware of the opening before the first laser sequence, I can’t take them seriously

not my clip but im assumin they didnt attack during that window because the purpose of the vid is showing off the dm

No, the dm plays out exactly the same every time. However, if you don’t let him pull you during the first dodging phase before the first set of lasers, he’ll be open.

no no i get that the dm still happens regardless, what i meant is that the same person has a couple videos up showcasing different dm's without attacking whatsoever so i think it's just an aesthetic choice

He’s not comparing the Xemnas fights, he’s comparing the experience of KH2 to 3. This is a moment in paid DLC that copies something from 2, whereas I don’t think any of the original endgame KH3 fights come close to that level of theatrics (except maybe the 3 Xehanort fights?)

theres a reason its t2 best data fights in the game

top 1 xion im assuming?

in terms of pure fight id actually probably give it to xemnas, his moveset is beautiful, its just the dopamine i get from xion blocking all her attacks perfectly is nuts

@killdeaaronfox so many of those fights are so good. xion, xemnas and riku are the top 3 stand outs for me though

@killdeaaronfox xion xemnas and WHOOOOOOOOOO????

This has none of the aura of the sequence in KH2 lmao…..

This is not KH3, this is Re:Mind stuff so locked behind a DLC that released a whole year after. What base KH3 gave us was an underwhelming cutscene of Xemnas using it on Lea that had to be updated too because of how bad it was.

Learning the timing for this made my feet and hands go cold, felt like I was ontop of the world after this fight

I like the data fight but come on 2s is so cinematic and incredibly character driven with after everything they’ve been through, Sora and Riku are finally able to work together perfectly in unison and trust each other completely to watch the others back

god dude this fight rocks so hard i love kh3

i think they're both great in their own aspects, where kh2 is a lot more cinematic and cool to look at but kh3 goes HARD where they recontextualize this attack into something you have to actually dodge against, as if to say "you've done this before, i dare you to do it again"

The original is iconic; this is a derivative iteration of that. It's different, it's more challenging; but it is not strictly "better".

I think its more towards base final boss not the remind fight. Cause i would say kh2 was a better final boss then 3 was.

Not really? Block the first laser and the rest are blocked for you, meanwhile Xemnas jumps in to take pot shots before firing off more lasers you barely have to do anything to fend off. In terms of engagement it’s about the same, but KH2 does a better job making it feel climatic.

Kh2's dome wasn't meant to be part of the fight in that sense. It was meant to be a hype conclusion to a boss that showed Sora and Riku fighting together. Gameplay wise this looks cool, but it misses the point of the KH2 one.

Nah. KH2 is still goated

All the sauce is lost. It loses the cool camera angles and overall focus. KH2 scene was just you and the lasers. That's it. Lets you focus on that particular moment and appreciate the set piece. Here, the lasers are just a part of all the other shit going on.

Literally what the fuck is that dumbass nigga talking about mashing 2 buttons vs whole section that is essentially a sequence of fanservice fs

How could a call back to an iconic moment be better than the moment it is calling back to? That doesn't even make sense

Yeah no man.

This is dogshit, fuck this game

Not really. All the lasers come from within the same, like 50* area, instead of the proper 360.

you're joking, right?

Comparing a cinematic moment of a final boss (which you get in all versions of KH2) to a superboss that only showed up in a DLC.

Remind slaps but comparing this to the finale of the xemnas fight can't be quantified they are so different and kh2 is so much better Kh2 genuinely has a perfect finale

Why did KH3 lock all these cool fights behind dlc man why couldn't this have been main story?

I personally disagree about it being better and more so just a different approach to the concept. I like it in 2 because the spectacle is the point, whereas in 3 it is there to provide further challenge to the data fight to keep the fight interesting while keeping the thematic.

Kh3 is so fucking gas 😭🔥
