Khmer traditional dance is really beautiful!

One of my all time favorites. 😍It's inspired by celestial dancers carved into the walls of Angkor Wat. The dancer's ornate silk costumes, golden headdresses, jewelry and slow movement with precise hand gestures carrying symbolic meaning about nature, spirituality, and life.

Cambodian admitted that they learned their classical dance from Thailand but refused to give credit. Instead they accused Thais of stealing it and preserving it? How can anyone steal culture and heritage from its people? It just doesn’t make sense because culture is passed on from generation to generation. If you don’t have anything to passed down that means you don’t have. Because …. After the fall of the Angkorian Empire, the ruling class, including the royalty, noble families, master craftsmen, and learned scholars, completely departed from Cambodia. Most of them migrated to Siam and blend in with the multi-ethnic population after 700 years there. Modern Thai people atpre consisted of many ethnic groups. Only the indigenous people in the southern regions of Angkor remained to carry on their lineage. Upon gaining independence from France, the Cambodian people, tragically, once again annihilated their own, particularly those with knowledge and skills (Khmer Rouge). This was another instance where the country suffered the complete loss of its human resources leading to the situation seen today. Looking back in 1866, Cambodian Kings have to wear clothes made by Thai people (don’t know if it because they lack the skills or it is because they are under the Thai people) Most importantly, the angkor wat was in Thai territory all along with other Angkorian Hindu temples until the french came along

Neighbor countries never give value and spread fake news about Cambodia. To all people in the world, please come and visit Cambodia. You will got the truth. Don't judge Cambodia by information. Thank you!
