Security agencies responded swiftly. THREE KIDNAPPED VICTIMS RESCUED UNHURT, PART OF RANSOM PAYMENT RECOVERED IN IMO STATE. On invitation, yesterday I arrived in Imo State and went through Ogbaku, Ejemekwuru, Amakohia Ubi, Ndegwu Okuku, and Ireti communities. Working in collaboration with the Nigeria Army 34 Artillery Brigade, Imo State Homeland Security, and the Amakohia Ubi Security Network, we carried out a coordinated operation. With technical and intelligence support from the Safe City Volunteer Team, we traced the kidnappers to a farmland in Ndegwu Okuku, where security operatives engaged them in a gun battle. The kidnappers fled the scene and abandoned three victims they had held captive while awaiting ransom payments from their families. A total of five victims were kidnapped. One release yesterday paid ransom, one was killed by the kidnappers and three was rescued unhurt by us. The rescued victims revealed that the kidnappers are eight in number and are strangers speaking Fulani. One of the kidnappers said he was kidnapped last week Friday around Portharcourt road and they trekked to Ejemekwuru Information gathered shows that these kidnappers are scattered across the above mentioned communities and other parts of Owerri West. Two months ago, in October, Harrison and his team, through their Air Tech System Surveillance, recovered ₦7.5 million from kidnappers in Ibusa, Oshimili North LGA, Delta State. This occurred immediately after the victim's family, Christopher Owah, made a ransom payment to free their father, following threats from the kidnappers that they would kill him if the money was not provided. This event didn't simply end with tracking the kidnappers to their hideout; a fierce gun battle ensued between the kidnappers and the joint team of the 63 Brigade, Asaba, and NFSS operatives. Meanwhile, prior to the incident, Harrison had raised an alert warning residents of Delta North about the resurgence of armed kidnappers in the area. Nevertheless, the victim was safely returned to his family, along with the ₦7.5 million initially taken by the kidnappers. Yesterday, I visited the palace of the Onojie of Ekpoma, His Royal Highness, Zaiki Anthony Ehizojie Abumere Il, following the protest in Ekpoma that resulted in the attack of the palace and widespread destruction of property in the community. Having met with the stakestakeholders, I want to reassure the good people of Edo State that your safety remains my top priority. My administration has made strong investments in modern security equipment, intelligence gathering, and collaboration among security agencies, and these efforts are already yielding results in our fight against kidnapping, cultism, and other crimes. Let me be clear: Edo State will not be taken hostage by criminals or their sponsors. Anyone involved in kidnapping or any form of criminal activity will be tracked down and brought to justice. There will be no hiding place for them. Hunters rescue kidnapped herder, neutralise gang leader in Yobe By: Zagazola Makama A local hunters’ group has successfully rescued a kidnapped herder, Alhaji Babawuro, from captivity in Yobe State without payment of ransom, following a coordinated operation with security authorities. Sources told Zagazola Makama that the Babawuro, a resident of Kurbunga village under Shamka District of the Ngelzarma Emirate in Fune Local Government Area, was abducted at about 2:00 a.m. on Nov. 29, 2025, and taken to an unknown location. The sources said the incident was reported to the Damagum Police Division on Nov. 30, after which the kidnappers contacted the victim’s family and demanded a ransom of N50 million. “It was the fifth time the victim had been kidnapped, apparently due to his status as a wealthy herder,” the sources said. They explained that while negotiations were ongoing and the police were making arrangements to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, the Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Yobe State Governor and the Emir of Ngelzarma held consultations with the Commissioner of Police. According to the sources, it was agreed that a hunters’ group with proven expertise in kidnap rescue operations should be engaged to assist the police. “The hunters subsequently took over negotiations, which were reduced to N7 million, while efforts were intensified to trace the kidnappers,” the sources said. They added that the hunters traced the victim and the kidnappers to Sandi village in Gulani Local Government Area. “At about 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, the hunters stormed the hideout and successfully rescued the victim without paying any ransom,” the sources said. During the operation, the leader of the kidnap gang, identified as Ahmadu Shuwa, also known as “Sumo,” was neutralised, while another suspect, Mohammed Bello, sustained gunshot injuries. The sources further disclosed that two other members of the gang were arrested and have confessed to the crime. The rescued victim, who has since reunited with his family, was treated at the State Specialist Hospital, Damaturu, and later reported the incident at the Damagum Police Station. Efforts are ongoing to recover the weapons used by the kidnappers ahead of handing over the suspects and exhibits to the Nigeria Police for further investigation and prosecution. This is to inform the general public, Nigerians and the Delta State government Delta State Government that children from Happy Home Orphanage Okwe, Delta State were kidnapped by unknown gunmen who invaded their orphanage home since Sunday, 15th June 2025 and selected 7 boys and the only 17 year old girl from the about 20 children in the orphanage. There was only 1 staff present while others were at church, and they lied to her that they came from B Division of Delta State Police for inspection Delta Police Department Delta State police denied any knowledge and assisted to trace the men who abducted the children. After months of searching for these children, the police Nigeria Police Force discovered it was not even the police but some members of Kano State National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons NAPTIP who came ILLEGALLY into Delta State to take those children named: 1. Madu Abuchukwu Elijah - Male 2. Madu Abuchukwu Chinwemeri - Male 3.Madu Abuchukwu Nzubechukwu Ifeanyi 4.Chimamanda Azuke Mpa - Male 5. Chibuike Azuka - Male 6.Munachi Ogugua - Male 7. Chidalu Samuel Emeh - Male 8. Chikamso - Female Kano NAPTIP did not report to any security arm of Delta State and so the case was treated as a kidnap since June. It later emerged they had an operation in Anambra and rather than leave, they entered Delta illegally for a supposed operation without any notice to security agencies. NAPTIP also denied and maintained that they had no information about the kids. Thankfully, in August, one of the children managed to get hold of a phone and immediately called the orphanage in Delta State. He pleaded with them to rescue them, revealing he asked around and found out they were being held in Kano State, at a place called Nasarawa Children’s Home. He further disclosed that their names had been changed and they were being forced to study the Quran. He also put the kids together and quickly took a pic that showed the 17 year old girl, Chikamso now wearing an hijab. From this information, the Delta State Police, NSCDC and the orphanage home swung into action to get the kids. After the information became public, the phone number the children used to contact them became unreachable. After nearly 4 months of silence since June 15th, because the case came public 3 days ago, NAPTIP is now issuing a statement on September 16th, claiming the children were trafficked from the North to Delta and have now been reunited with their families in the North. This is not the first time this is happening but NAPTIP picked the wrong orphanage this time, this particular orphanage also has kids whose mothers are alive and work as staff. The mothers are shocked with the abduction and with NAPTIP’s statement, while NAPTIP claims the kids were taken from families in the North and are now reunited in Kano. QUESTIONS FOR NAPTIP 1. Why did your officials lie that they were from Division B of Delta State police when they went to kidnap these children from the orphanage home in Delta on June 15th? 2. Why did Kano NAPTIP enter Delta State, take children, and claim a trafficking operation without informing or reporting it to any security agency even after taking the children? 3. If the orphanage was truly a trafficking center, why did NAPTIP take the grown 7 boys and the only 17-year-old girl, leaving behind babies and the other smaller children? 4. NAPTIP took these children from Delta to Kano since June 15, so why wait until September 16th, after the matter became public to issue a statement and claim the kids were reunited with their families? 5. Why has NAPTIP refused to present the children to the authorities for an interview and show the said real families they claimed were reunited? 6. Since when is NAPTIP’s job to Islamize victims, changing their names, making Chibuike bear Ahmed and forcing them to study Quran, and why is Chikamso being forced to wear hijabs and learn about Islamic husbands? Enough is Enough. Nigeria should not become a banana republic.

It later emerged they had an operation in Anambra and rather than leave, they entered Delta illegally for a supposed operation without any notice to security agencies. NAPTIP also denied and maintained that they had no information about the kids. Thankfully, in August, one of the children managed to get hold of a phone and immediately called the orphanage in Delta State. He pleaded with them to rescue them, revealing he asked around and found out they were being held in Kano State, at a place called Nasarawa Children’s Home. He further disclosed that their names had been changed and they were being forced to study the Quran. He also put the kids together and quickly took a pic that showed the 17 year old girl, Chikamso now wearing an hijab. From this information, the Delta State Police, NSCDC and the orphanage home swung into action to get the kids. After the information became public, the phone number the children used to contact them became unreachable. After nearly 4 months of silence since June 15th, because the case came public 3 days ago, NAPTIP is now issuing a statement on September 16th, claiming the children were trafficked from the North to Delta and have now been reunited with their families in the North. This is not the first time this is happening but NAPTIP picked the wrong orphanage this time, this particular orphanage also has kids whose mothers are alive and work as staff. The mothers are shocked with the abduction and with NAPTIP’s statement, while NAPTIP claims the kids were taken from families in the North and are now reunited in Kano. QUESTIONS FOR NAPTIP 1. Why did your officials lie that they were from Division B of Delta State police when they went to kidnap these children from the orphanage home in Delta on June 15th? 2. Why did Kano NAPTIP enter Delta State, take children, and claim a trafficking operation without informing or reporting it to any security agency even after taking the children? 3. If the orphanage was truly a trafficking center, why did NAPTIP take the grown 7 boys and the only 17-year-old girl, leaving behind babies and the other smaller children? 4. NAPTIP took these children from Delta to Kano since June 15, so why wait until September 16th, after the matter became public to issue a statement and claim the kids were reunited with their families? 5. Why has NAPTIP refused to present the children to the authorities for an interview and show the said real families they claimed were reunited? 6. Since when is NAPTIP’s job to Islamize victims, changing their names, making Chibuike bear Ahmed and forcing them to study Quran, and why is Chikamso being forced to wear hijabs and learn about Islamic husbands? It was a revealing experience for me during the visits, last week, to Gombe, Katsina, and Sokoto States, where we had the opportunity to witness firsthand the challenges and progress in Nigeria’s healthcare system. Meeting with the Governors and key stakeholders, we reinforced our commitment to maternal and child mortality reduction, hospital revitalization, and expanding access to essential health services. In Gombe State Government of Gombe State, I commended HE Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya leadership in immunization and healthcare financing while highlighting how the $1 billion Project Hope Project HOPE will complement state-level investments, ensuring sustainable health outcomes at the grassroots. In Katsina State Katsina State Government, I underscored the urgency of tackling maternal mortality, where 15 local government areas contribute significantly to the national burden. Through the MNH-MaMII Initiative, NHIA NIGERIA, we aim to work with the state to ensure that every pregnant woman receives the care she needs. In Sokoto State Sokoto Government House, where maternal mortality stands at 977 per 100,000 live births, collaboration is key. With the Emergency Medical System #NEMSAS and ambulance scheme, expanded primary healthcare revitalization, and routine immunization efforts, we are ensuring that no woman or child is left behind. Across these visits, we reaffirmed our whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach, working in alignment with H.E. We acknowledge the pain and concerns of citizens, and investigations into the matter are in full swing to ensure justice is served. 2.However, it has become necessary to address a disturbing trend arising from this incident. During a recent routine patrol by officers of Operation Delta Sweep, an individual accosted by them became unruly, questioned the lawful stop, and physically assaulted an officer by grabbing and dragging the officer's uniform. Contrary to what was being circulated, the officer involved is a member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on official duty, not a Police Officer. 3.The State Government and all security agencies strongly condemn this act. While we understand public anger over the Oghenemine Ogidi’s incident, it must be emphasised that no citizen is permitted to take the law into their own hands, insult, or assault officers discharging their lawful duties. 4. In view of the above, we therefore warn the general public as follows: i. Desist from any form of assault, obstruction, or disrespect toward law enforcement officers. Such actions are criminal and will be met with the full weight of the law. not resort to self-help or mob action. This is aside from several General Officers Commanding, Air Officers Commanding, Commissioners of Police, State Directors of Security, and military commanders at state levels. Our appreciation for the sacrifices made and still being made by our military and security officers is deep. That is why we speak out about those saddled with immense responsibility two years ago who seem to view security management as a persistent exercise in propaganda and make-belief, and as cover for diverting public funds and abusing power with impunity. Neither the ONSA nor the Kaduna State Government can stop the exercise of constitutional rights to associate with others, have meetings, express opinions and alternatives to the fictitious narrative of officialdom. They are advised to concentrate their efforts on solving security issues, rather than seeing in the misery of affected citizens opportunities to claim false glories and divert and squander funds. Insecurity is the menace they ought to eliminate, not opposition voices and platforms. The repeated haranguing by the KDSG of some of its own officials and some security agencies for not disrupting visits and meetings in Kaduna by certain prominent persons is well-known. The thuggery unleashed against the ADC meeting of Saturday, 30 August 2025 shows that those harangued government officials and some officers of security agencies have succumbed to blandishments to sponsor and enable violence against those that legitimately oppose their government. National security is a very serious matter, critical to the peace and prosperity of the country, and the safety and wellbeing of citizens. TROOPS OF OPERATION UDOKA DISMANTLE CRIMINAL SYNDICATE, RECOVER STOLEN WEAPONS Troops of 34 Artillery Brigade, operating under Operation UDOKA through the ongoing Operation EASTERN SANITY II, have recorded a significant operational success with the arrest of key members of a notorious criminal syndicate responsible for the ambush of troops on 4 May 2026. Unfortunately, the ambush claimed the life of one soldier and left another wounded. Following the attack, troops launched a series of intelligence-led raids aimed at apprehending the perpetrators and recovering weapons stolen during the incident. These sustained operations resulted in the arrest of the suspects. Subsequently, the suspects guided troops to their hideouts at Aggah Plantation, Ekpeaggah, Rivers State, and Umudike Plantation, where the stolen weapons and other arms used in committing their nefarious acts were concealed. During the operation, troops recovered the stolen service weapons comprising one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and one FN rifle with two magazines. Additionally, troops recovered three more AK-47 rifles with nine magazines, pistols with their magazines, 194 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, and 45 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition. Military clothing and protective gear, including camouflage shirts, trousers, jungle hats, and a fragment protection jacket, were also recovered. Other items included one empty first aid box and five mobile phones believed to be linked to the syndicate’s criminal activities. For eight incredible years, Kathryn and I have greeted every day with enormous gratitude for the opportunity to serve the citizens of North Dakota as governor and first lady. We have been rewarded with a deeper sense of love and appreciation for this exceptional place where we were born, where we became a family and where we embarked on an immensely rewarding journey into public service. Our two terms in office have reaffirmed what we already knew: North Dakota truly is the best of America. From the farm fields to the oil fields, North Dakotans work tirelessly to feed and fuel the world. Agriculture and energy form the bedrock of a robust and increasingly diverse economy that has continued to expand across manufacturing, technology, health care, aerospace, retail, tourism and other areas. Our abundant natural resources are the envy of the nation, from the rich soils of the Red River Valley to the bountiful oil and gas deposits of the Bakken, to the highly productive lakes, rivers, grasslands and Badlands teeming with fish and wildlife. On our first day in office, in our first meeting with cabinet agency leaders, and in my first State of the State address, I issued this challenge: Anything being done simply because “that’s the way we have always done it” should be and must be rigorously and respectfully questioned. And no matter what, we must have the courage to admit that we can always do better. In the ensuing years, we harnessed the power of technology to reinvent government processes to be more efficient, responsive and cost-effective for taxpayers. We prioritized behavioral health and reduced the stigma of the disease of addiction, inspiring thousands to find hope in recovery. We encouraged and supported cities of all sizes in their efforts to create healthy, vibrant communities with smart, efficient infrastructure that can attract and retain a skilled workforce. We empowered teachers with policies and tools to support innovative education. We provided historic tax relief and diversified our economy to make our state more competitive and resilient. Through it all, we fought to protect the freedoms and safety that make our state a great place to live, work and raise a family. Working with the Legislature, Lt. Govs. Tammy Miller and Brent Sanford, and other state and local officials, we expanded Second Amendment rights. We passed “Back the Blue” policies and programs to support our peace officers, firefighters and first responders. We made huge strides toward making North Dakota the most military-friendly state in the nation. This work – firmly rooted in the values of courage, curiosity, gratitude and humility – was fulfilling beyond measure. It’s as President Theodore Roosevelt said: “Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” We caught the prize, and the last eight years have been filled with work worth doing. We owe North Dakota’s positive outlook to the private-sector innovators and entrepreneurs, the bold leaders and risk-takers, the teachers, nurses, laborers and other workers on the front lines, and the outstanding efforts of dedicated Team ND members who strive every day to ensure that state government lives up to our purpose statement: Empower People, Improve Lives and Inspire Success. Our state has never been stronger. Our future has never been brighter. Thank you for being an important part of our state’s ongoing success, and thank you for giving Kathryn and me this opportunity to serve the Great State of North Dakota!

For eight incredible years, Kathryn and I have greeted every day with enormous gratitude for the opportunity to serve the citizens of North Dakota as governor and first lady. We have been rewarded with a deeper sense of love and appreciation for this exceptional place where we were born, where we became a family and where we embarked on an immensely rewarding journey into public service. Our two terms in office have reaffirmed what we already knew: North Dakota truly is the best of America. From the farm fields to the oil fields, North Dakotans work tirelessly to feed and fuel the world. Agriculture and energy form the bedrock of a robust and increasingly diverse economy that has continued to expand across manufacturing, technology, health care, aerospace, retail, tourism and other areas. Our abundant natural resources are the envy of the nation, from the rich soils of the Red River Valley to the bountiful oil and gas deposits of the Bakken, to the highly productive lakes, rivers, grasslands and Badlands teeming with fish and wildlife. On our first day in office, in our first meeting with cabinet agency leaders, and in my first State of the State address, I issued this challenge: Anything being done simply because “that’s the way we have always done it” should be and must be rigorously and respectfully questioned. And no matter what, we must have the courage to admit that we can always do better. In the ensuing years, we harnessed the power of technology to reinvent government processes to be more efficient, responsive and cost-effective for taxpayers. We engaged our tribal nations in new and unprecedented ways, strengthening relationships built on understanding and mutual respect.
