Hünkâr SofasI; one of the most beautiful sections of Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, Türkiye 🇹🇷 It was positioned centrally between Sultan Ill. Murad's Chamber and baths, it was constructed by Chief Architect Davud Aa after 1585 CE, and has undergone changes through fires and repairs to reach us today. It served as the ceremonial and reception hall for the sultans, hosting the dynasty's wedding and birth ceremonies, as wel as the reception of congratulations from Harem residents on ceremonies and holidays. Hünkâr Sofasl, the palace's largest domed space, featuresa canopy where the sultan's throne is placed and a gallery where women, including Valide Sultan, would sit. The upper floor of the gallery was used by concubines and musicians. An adjoining room on the left side of the main entrance was later divided into a salon, likely used as a pantry. Iznik tile inscription belt dates to after 1665 fire, while blue-and-white Dutch (Delft) tiles and rococo decoration belong to mid-18th Century CE, during reign of Sultan Il. Osman. Dome, arches and pendentives still showcase penwork decorations from structure's initial construction period. Wooden arcade arches and windows follow baroque style. Inscriptions on doors and windows praise Sultan IlII. Osman and detail repairs undertaken during his reign. Harem was the private palace of Sultan and his family, and was controlled by Queen Mother (Valide Sultan). Like in Indian palaces, Topkapi Palace had multiple throne rooms and one here was for private audience. It was built in 16th Century CE, burnt down in fire of 1666 CE, and rebuilt immediately after that. The side gallery, where the family sat, is an example of this. Delft tiles and the Venetian mirror above was added in 18th Century CE. The gilded sofa was a present from Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany. Central dome of the room is supposed to be the largest in the palace complex. In this view you can see the incredibly ornamental interior of the dome. This is original, from the rococo style redecoration of sultan Osman III, executed immediately after the fire. This is a room which reflects the aesthetics of the whole palace: a single look cannot encompass it, you really have to examine the details. Topkapı Palace was not only the residence of Ottoman sultans, but also the administrative and educational centre of the state. Initially constructed between 1460-1478 CE, by Sultan Mehmed II, conqueror of Constantinople, and expanded upon and altered many times throughout its long history, palace served as the home of Ottoman sultans and their court until middle of 19th Century CE. In early 1850s, palace became inadequate to requirements of state ceremonies and protocol, and so sultans moved to Dolmabahçe Palace, located on Bosphorus. But despite this move, royal treasure, Holy Relics of the Prophet Muhammad and imperial archives continued to be preserved at Topkapı and since palace was ancestral residence of Ottoman dynasty as well as place where the Holy Relics were preserved, Topkapı continued to play host to certain state ceremonies. This Friday, 24th of January at 7pm PT. #AppleMusicLive i am so thrilled to share an hour excerpt of the Cornucopia concert film here with you online . the full version will be played later in theatres . this has been a long journey with hundreds of people helping out . i am so beyond enormously grateful to every single one of them . i feel the modern concert film is a matriarchially friendly construct , welcomed in the current climate . where female musicians can share their worlds uncorrupted . in cornucopia , i was joined by musical director and multi instrumentalist bergur þórisson , percussionist manu delago , flute septet Viibra , harpist katie buckley and the hamrahlid choir . i spent last decade working with 360-degree sound and visual software in virtual reality and animation, creating Biophilia and later Vulnicura as a VR album. i was deeply inspired by the idea of a fully-immersive experience spreading Utopia and Fossora into fully surround speakers. my intention was to bring what we had created for 21st-century VR into a 19th-century theatre - taking it from the headset to the stage. this vision was realised with 27 moving curtains that captured projections on different textures and LED screens, creating a digitally animated show : a "modern lanterna magica" for live music. i also wanted to feature bespoke instruments: a magnetic harp, an aluphone, a circular flute, and a reverb chamber, specially built with an audio architect to enhance the most intimate version of a performance—in a personal chapel. throughout this tale, there is a subplot woven in: a second story of an avatar—a modern marionette who alchemically mutates, from puppet to puppet, from the injury of a heart wound to a fully healed state. i hope you enjoy it. warmthness, björk

It foregoes things like quest logs and map markers, instead challenging you to figure things out on your own, without holding your hand. This is a game full of "lightbulb moments." Items you collected hours ago could be the key to a solution in a completely different area. It forces you to THINK, and when it finally clicks, it's an extremely rewarding feeling. One of the game's most impressive qualities is the sheer immersion and worldbuilding. Hadea is a war-torn country that is deeply layered with lore. It can at times be a dark story - touching on subjects like prejudice, abuse, and the horrors of war. The country is in an active civil war and Rogue Factor isn't shy about it putting it directly in your face. The two warring factions have commited atrocities against one another, and it's often put front and center. You'll learn the history of the war, as well as the different cultures, religous beliefs, cults, uprisings, and other major events in each area. The visuals, while not the most cutting edge, are still a highlight with strong art design. From thick forests and foggy mists, to dark underground caverns with supernatural phenomena, to wide open lakes and secret underground facilities - none of them felt out of place. Performance was great for me and was much improved from the demo in my experience. Sadly though, combat was a mixed bag. The core mechanics are solid, but the overall execution still needs some work. The parry/block felt inconsistent and visual clarity can be a huge issue. The effects look great but can make it hard to read enemy telegraphs. There's a good amount of build potential however, with dozens of different abilities to choose from for both your weapons and your drone. These cost 'Lymbic Energy' which is recharged by dealing damage. Health and stamina can also be recovered by timing a Ki Pulse ability after every attack. It's a good system that allows you to keep up nonstop pressure once you master it. Difficulty ramps up in Act 2 and beyond, but there were surprisingly few actual boss fights. Enemy variety was also very low with 5 core enemies, and 5 "Hazes." Each can be slightly altered depending on what grade they are (1-3), but in the end it can get quite repetitive. Hell is Us isn't perfect - but it makes some bold design choices that I can appreciate. It's a strong effort from a relatively unknown studio, and there's a LOT of potential for a sequel. The world is rich with lore, and it's already a very fleshed out universe. I completed my playthrough in around 25 hours, but there's easily 30-40 hours worth of content to discover. I've seen some criticism of the story's ending, but I thought it was fine, although somewhat abrupt. It's very clearly teasing a sequel or DLC of some kind. This is painful to write, but I need to get it out... For years, my “news” came almost entirely from left-leaning podcasts and media outlets. The other day I scrolled back through my podcast history from that era and it honestly made my stomach drop. Thousands of hours of my life, just gone. Hours I’ll never get back, the vast majority of it I know now wasn’t even information… it was just propaganda packaged as news. I’m writing this because I want to warn you, because I wish someone had warned me. It’s hard to explain to people who haven’t lived inside it just how insanely bubble-like the grip on your perception of reality becomes. How it doesn’t feel AT ALL like you’re being shaped to think a certain way, it just feels like you’re being informed and in the process... you feel morally superior and smarter than "them" (the conservatives). For me the routine was simple: A couple minutes of CNN with my morning coffee. A “breaking news” push notification from the NYT. Pod Save America or The Daily on my commute. They all said the same stuff!!! Same framing. Same villains. Same moral conclusions from the news. It's literally the right-wing meme of "the script has gone out!" It's so so true. Yeah the companies were different, but they all had essentially an identical script, all corroborated by experts. In hindsight, it's a freaking miracle I ever broke out of it. It's a near-perfectly-sealed echo chamber. And now, as I'm scrolling through my past, it looks like a record of someone slowly being put to sleep. Episode after episode. Commute after commute. Day after day. Just thousands of hours of my life with headphones in, letting someone else narrate reality to me. And I'm sick with regret. Because I know that a part of me liked it. Like I was smarter, kinder, and more evolved because I just knew so much more, and was on the team of empathy! I was wrong. And I can’t rewind who I was in those years. But I’m writing this because I KNOW there are people still living in that trance. I talk to you (yes, you know who you are) often. And I know you think you're just “staying informed,” and I hear in your voice the moral superiority, the immediate reaction to take offense on behalf of some group or people... Please. Please wake up before you lose years of your life the way I did. Because one day you’ll look back and realize the biggest thing they stole from you wasn't just your time... They stole the truth.

This is probably the most complex workflow I’ve ever built, only with open-source tools. It took my 4 days. It takes four inputs: author, title, and style; and generates a full visual animated story in one click in ComfyUI . I worked on it for four days. There are still some bugs, but here’s the first preview. Here’s a quick breakdown: - The four inputs are sent to LLMs with precise instructions to generate: first, prompts for images and image modifications; second, prompts for animations; third, prompts for generating music. - All voices are generated from the text and timed precisely, as they determine the length of each animation segment. - The first image and video are generated to serve as the title, but also as the guide for all other images created for the video. - Titles and subtitles are also added automatically in Comfy. - I also developed a lot of custom nodes for minor frame calculations, mostly to match audio and video. - The full system is a large loop that, for each line of text, generates an image and then a video from that image. The loop was the hardest part to build in this workflow, so it can process either a 20-second video or a 2-minute video with the same input. - There are multiple combinations of LLMs that try to understand the text in the best way to provide the best prompts for images and video. - The final video is assembled entirely within ComfyUI. - The music is generated based on the LLM output and matches the exact timing of the full animation. - Done! For reference, this workflow uses a lot of models and only works on an RTX 6000 Pro with plenty of RAM. My goal is not to replace humans, as I’ll try to explain later, this workflow is highly controlled and can be adapted or reworked at any point by real artists! My aim was to create a tool that can animate text in one go, allowing the AI some freedom while keeping a strict flow. I don’t know yet how I’ll share this workflow with people, I still need to polish it properly, but maybe through Patreon.
