John Zmirak and Eric Metaxas join up with James Lindsay to attack Scott Hahn. This isn’t really about Catholic integralism. It’s about antisemitism. I think it’s time for Scott Hahn to come out and discuss this topic. My opposition to Zionism started by listening to Scott Hahn’s lectures on scripture. I’d love to know if I’m taking his work out of context. Judging by this clip I don’t think I am.

I have never once heard Allie Beth speak where her message wasn’t utterly rooted in scripture. I don’t even know what Candace is talking about here. Allie never just drops random out-of-context Bible verses and leaves it at that. She’s always putting things in context and giving an edifying message rooted in scripture. …exactly as Christians are meant to. It seems like Candace just has a problem with Allie quoting the Bible period. …which is why she herself never quotes the Bible, except once to say “blessed are the peacemakers.” Candace likes to use her Catholicism to excuse her spiritual laziness and lukewarm Christianity. “Oh I’m not a priest so…” and “I’ll defer to my priest.” It’s good to have seasoned spiritual mentors, but don’t crouch your own laziness in faux humility and expect us to buy it. We’re not meant to leave the scripture to the priests or leave the scripture for Sundays or for Mass only. Scripture is meant to guide every single thing we do and say and even think.
