Kitten update #25: We're starting to let the kittens explore more of the house. The soda cases are blocking the door gap to keep them from escaping, but it's also provided a convenient barrier that Buffy respects so that the door can be open and the kitties can decide whether to engage with her or not. So far, they have enthusiastically chosen YES. Fortunately, Buffy has realized that the face end tastes better than the tail end because it might have some cat food on it. Besides the dog time, they also got to have new experiences with wood floors (soooo slippery!), stairs (fun to leap on), and the robot vacuum (not really that scary but not really making friends either). I suspect the afternoon nap will be extra intense today.

Today we visited Power at 3 PM. The vets informed us that she didn't eat anything during the night, so they started an intravenous drip with fluids (saline/water) to keep her hydrated. Even during our visit she did not wanna eat anything, but we did manage to give her a solid 45 minutes of pure cuddles. We also received the three invoices covering the Operation that she will get on monday, daily hospitalization costs plus the full ultrasound they gave her. (and I'll upload them to the main GoFundMe page). The Veterinary confirmed that the operation will be an exploratory laparoscopy with a micro camera to see what's going on and there will be no actual removal of the mass just a biopsy of a small part of the tissue and lymph node to get analized. and that they will need to make a second surgery when her clinical situation get more clearer to get the mass removed and start the chemo. Sadly we have not yet a quote for those. Power will also get a gastric tube to make feeding her easier. With that, she will be able to come home to us wednesday while we wait for the removal surgery. She relaxed a lot during our visit and of course we will continue to update on her conditions daily! thank you so much to all the people that decided to help Power with the donations you have no idea how gratefull I am.

At my wits end with my cat. Starting to resent him. TL:DR - cat constantly cries, and absolutely NOTHING works. Starting to resent the cat and causing relationship issues. At a complete loss about options. I’m at my complete wits end with my cat!!! He constantly cries. Non. Stop. We can’t take it anymore. He’s always cried a lot since he was a kitten, and he’s now 3 years old and nothing has changed. We have taken him to the vet multiple times and they can find nothing wrong with him. He’s an indoor only cat, and recently he started going outside to explore our apartment garden. He ended up running out the door one day, and since he didn’t stray far, we were giving him an hour outside each day to help burn off some energy. Now he wants to be outside constantly and will cry for literally hours when we bring him inside. He’s not one for cat toys, has never been interested in them. We have tried every single enriching activity and he does it once and never again. When we play with him (chasey or hide and seek) he’s bored after 5 mins. We tried Zylkene. We tried Feliway. Neither worked. We even trialled getting him a companion and that ended up terribly. We work from home 4 days a week and are around on the weekends. We are starting to resent him and it’s causing issues between me and my partner as we’re constantly stressed about him. We can’t give him up as pounds are full and he’ll be euthanised and none of our family members (with houses and yards) want to take him either as they don’t like him/hear horror stories from us. Kitten update #30: Whoever recommended the boxing bag toy, it's been a hit! Of course my girl Lilith is the first to let her paws go. The kitties got to come into the studio for the first time yesterday. I now many of you are waiting for the inevitable stream and hoping the kitties will participate, but there's a bit of a problem a studio means cables everywhere, and (as I discovered) they can't be trusted around them. I can't take my eyes off them for a second. How do people protect their cables from kittens? It was never a problem with the puppies because they hated being scolded and learned fast not to touch them, but the kitties just look at me and laugh and stare me in the eye while taking a big chomp. Is there a non-duct tape solution?

Jun to prove that the crypto community actually raised all this money, but luckily they managed to pull it off. It's been several months since I curbed my phone addiction and it is so profoundly noticeable that my happiness has dramatically increased. I completely dropped doom scrolling, the news, politics, brain rot, and limit social media to mine and my friends' posts only. All the general negativity on the internet is like living in a home where everyone argues and is upset, even if it doesn't involve you and you don't engage with it, just being exposed to it every day is mentally draining. It's subtle, it creeps up slowly, and you don't even realize how mentally taxing it truly is. Now imagine the feeling of living in a home where everyone is peaceful and laughs, the feeling is equally infectious. You can even test this out by watching Friends or The Big Bang Theory with and without the laugh track on YouTube; spoiler, it's painfully cringe without it. The effect surrounding vibes have on your emotions is so strong, and it's hard to notice most of the time. I now find myself having uncontrollable fits of laughter at least once a week, which used to be closer to once a year. It's important to note that the things triggering these fits of laughing were always there, the difference is that my perception has changed. It's figuratively like a laugh track is playing in the background and all of a sudden, everything is now funny. I'm not trying to preach and tell people how to live their lives, but it's something I felt compelled to share since it's helped me so much. The habit was hard to break because the algorithm is designed to adapt to every person and lock you in, but I did it by substituting the phone with other things I enjoy. Right now it's learning the guitar and swimming. I'm developing skills I've never had, and it only compounds the feeling of happiness.

Now imagine the feeling of living in a home where everyone is peaceful and laughs, the feeling is equally infectious. You can even test this out by watching Friends or The Big Bang Theory with and without the laugh track on YouTube; spoiler, it's painfully cringe without it. The effect surrounding vibes have on your emotions is so strong, and it's hard to notice most of the time. I now find myself having uncontrollable fits of laughter at least once a week, which used to be closer to once a year. It's important to note that the things triggering these fits of laughing were always there, the difference is that my perception has changed. It's figuratively like a laugh track is playing in the background and all of a sudden, everything is now funny. I'm not trying to preach and tell people how to live their lives, but it's something I felt compelled to share since it's helped me so much. The habit was hard to break because the algorithm is designed to adapt to every person and lock you in, but I did it by substituting the phone with other things I enjoy. Right now it's learning the guitar and swimming. I'm developing skills I've never had, and it only compounds the feeling of happiness.

After 40 days of needless suffering for the American people, enough reasonable Democrats did the right thing and voted with us to end the Schumer Shutdown.
