🇮🇳This is Shiva Keshavan, India's trailblazing Winter Olympian.⁣ ⁣ India may not have won a medal at the Winter Olympics... yet... but they have some pioneering athletes.⁣ ⁣ Shiva is one of them. At just 16 years old, he became the youngest male Olympic athlete to compete in luge, a super fast-paced downhill race on a tiny sled, with no brakes. ⁣ ⁣ But, as the BBC's Ella Hubber has been finding out, his journey was far from easy.⁣ ⁣ Without any luge infrastructure in India, Shiva decided to take up the sport using makeshift tracks and sleds built in his garage.⁣ ⁣ His parents were able to scrape together the funds to send him to his first Winter Olympics at Nagano, Japan, in 1998, where he was India's only athlete.⁣ ⁣ Shiva went on to compete at another five Olympics but never made it onto the podium. Today, John Carpenter and longtime band mates Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies share a second track from ‘Cathedral’ - a project that marks Carpenter’s highly anticipated return to the realm of audio/visual narrative storytelling. Following previously shared track “Lord of The Underground”, today we share the grinding and dramatic track “The Ferryman”, along with imagery from the graphic novel. Johnson @iamtweezy904 The project spans a new album set for release August 7th on Sacred Bones Records alongside his first ever graphic novel, set for release August 4 via Storm King Comics. In a story rich with River Styx iconography, “The Ferryman” scores a scene in which we encounter the subterranean character of the same name. “I like that one because it really seems to feature all three of us in a special way,” Davies says. “It has interesting harmonies that Cody put together and John’s signature pad-style string parts. It’s more of an electronic metal track in a way, but we just wanted to make it as heavy and driving as possible.” Designed as a fully immersive project, ‘Cathedral’ functions as both soundtrack and narrative engine: each track aligns with a chapter of the graphic novel, with liner notes guiding listeners through the story. The study, conducted by music experts led by Dr. Rachael Durkin at Northumbria University, applied the principles of organology and acoustics to determine that mayonnaise can produce or modify sound in a controlled and intentional way. When used purposely to create sound, mayonnaise meets the criteria to be treated as an instrument rather than just a condiment. Researchers found that whether in a jar, a squeeze bottle, or alone, mayonnaise’s acoustic properties are measurable and reproducible, and the intentional action of a player generating sound with it is what grants it musical status. The concept originated as a meme from the SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon, and Hellmann’s collaborated with creator Andy Arthur Smith to compose a track made entirely from mayonnaise generated sounds, turning a playful idea into an evidence based musical experiment.

The Kalpa Vigraha is a small black stone idol of Lord Shiva, about 5–6 cm tall, depicting Shiva in meditation with serpent and trident motifs. It is surrounded by mystery due to claims of extreme antiquity and spiritual significance.🚩🕉 According to monks in the Himalayan monastery where it was kept: The idol was not man-made, but manifested by sages or deities. It dates back to the Dwapara Yuga or even earlier. It was worshipped in secret by ascetics for countless generations as a link to Mahakaal, the timeless aspect of Shiva. In the United States (around the 1960s–1970s): The idol was analyzed. The material was found to be a very hard, ancient black stone. Claims emerged that testing indicated an age of about 2.5 billion years for the idol though this is geologically impossible for a carved figure, and likely refers to the rock’s age, not the sculpture. The wooden box, however, was reportedly carbon dated and found to be about 28,000 years old, which is far older than any known Hindu artifact or temple.
