I often feel like the dialogue around Derik Queen, is that he doesn’t provide spacing as a shooter, so he is talked about as a more traditional back to the basket guy. And while I think his footwork on the block is sick, Queen is also a pretty devastating slasher from the perimeter— utilizing the same sick footwork, a tight handle, long smooth strides, the ability to handle contact, and the ability to finish with power or touch. So even if he isn’t stretching the floor yet, Queen can still attack space comfortably, as he’s able to take advantage when teams send two to the ball, make quick decisions when the ball swings his way on the weakside, or just straight up use his handle to beat dudes off the bounce. Yes, he’s a big bodied dude, but he’s quick and agile and when placed in an ecosystem with even more space at the next level, I think he’s going to prove super versatile in how teams can utilize him in different parts of the floor.

Bossed that midfield and posted better numbers than most central midfielders in the league. Then he scores in the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton to send us to the final, and Pep benches him for the closing stretch of the season, destroys the rhythm entirely, and we lose the league. He was more than capable in that deeper role. Far more capable than Kovacic. But yes, we don’t know football. So the first thing is his corruption has a cost to you, and the second thing is his corruption has been enabled by this Supreme Court, which has given him absolute and total immunity. That’s why we need real reform. That’s why we need anti-corruption laws at the federal level. I could make an argument that we need a 28th Amendment to our Constitution to bake in some stricter guardrails to protect the American people from a president of the United States who lacks integrity, ethics, and honor the way this president does. Manuel Ángel Morán. A special player. I hope he has fewer physical issues and injuries next season, and that he can build some consistency. If he makes good progress physically and manages to get back to his best, he’s the kind of profile that could become a good addition to the first team in the long run.
