The fastest riser on both my and @sheilkapadia’s top ten coaches lists? Ben Johnson. “I felt comfortable putting him at four (!) because to me, it wasn’t just about last year…”

If you take out their games against Seattle, the Niners had a top five offense this year—even with the injuries. Against the Seahawks, they put up bottom of the league numbers. Discussed the job Mike Macdonald has done vs Kyle Shanahan on the pod 👇

The Giants had a top ten pass rush last year…and it didn’t matter bc they couldn’t stop the run. On the pod we discussed how Arvell Reese already looks like a massive upgrade at their weakest position last year.

The Dallas Cowboys had a top five offense last year. On the pod, @nate_tice made a (convincing!) case that they could be even better this season 👀

The Bills offense was *extremely* good out of multiple TE sets last year—but didn’t use them much for a few reasons. On the pod, Anthony Cover 1 and I discussed why Buffalo will likely boost their 12 and 13 personnel usage this year, and why DJ Moore is a factor…

Logan Ryan on Kyle Shanahan: “Kyle Shanahan is one of the baddest coaches on the planet. He should have a lifetime deal with the 49ers. I knew from the moment I stepped in the first meeting of joining the team that Kyle Shanahan was one of the best coaches I have ever seen and I got coached by Bill Belichick.” via: Jim Rome

Yes, Dak Prescott threw too many interceptions last year. But from 2016-2021, he had the 5th lowest interception rate in the *entire league.* Talked about why I think Dak is clearly a top ten guy on today's QB draft:
