Labour has launched free breakfast clubs, increased the minimum wage for millions of workers and increased government funded childcare to help with the cost of living, and we won’t stop there.

Raising the minimum wage while freezing tax allowances isn’t progress - it’s a stealth tax in disguise. More people working harder just to hand it straight back to the Treasury. And those ‘free breakfast clubs’? They only exist because parents now have to leave home earlier just to survive. The system’s not helping families - it’s harvesting them.

One more time - these feeding programmes are not free but @UKLabour knows that already. If children aren't being fed by their parents the educational system is mandated to report neglect not cover it up with a bowl of cereal and a slice of toast. If parents have another reason for not being able to give their own children breakfast and expect schools to do that instead then there must be a cost to that. Doing so leaves them no worse off. What that arrangement would do is demonstrate parental responsibility for their own child's welfare.
