Labour peer Peter Hain making the point that this govt would have called him a terrorist for his participation in anti apartheid direct action protests in the 1970's. He also argues that this govt would have called the suffragettes terrorists too.

As Lord Hain is keen to stress at the start of his speech, he 'aint no friend of the left. But even he recognises what this govt is doing is wrong.

They would also perhaps have done deals with fascists, funny old business politics, it is why foreign donations/ sponsorship should have no place in UK politics, we need our elected MPs honest not vassals to a foreign entity, needs changing urgently.

Based on unique targeted provisions of Cat & Mouse Act it is quite poss the Liberal Gov of 1906-1916 might v well have defined the 2-5k Suffragettes (as opposd to 50k memb Suffragists) up there with Anarchist Groups (eg Siege of Sydney Street) of the time?
