Starmer is gone. Good riddance, and close the door behind you. But what followed should trouble anyone who still cares about democracy. After Labour’s disastrous local elections, we were told there would be a leadership contest. Contenders began jockeying for position. Then Labour manufactured a by-election to parachute Andy Burnham into Westminster. Even then, we were told it was merely the route into a proper contest. Funny how the other contenders stood down the moment Burnham was elected. Now he walks into No 10 uncontested. No hustings. No public debate. No detailed plan for change. More than 400 Labour MPs sit in Parliament, yet the party had to bring in the Mayor of Manchester because none of them had the confidence or support to lead the country. That is an indictment in itself. Burnham keeps promising change, but change from what, and towards what? A politician cannot be held to promises he has never clearly made. This is a coronation without scrutiny. Why are we simply standing back and watching it happen? More than 400 Labour MPs, yet the party had to manufacture a by-election and bring in Andy Burnham. While faces might change and representatives will come and go, the line of the Labour Party is the line of the finance capitalists in the City of London. It is no surprise then that the warmongering line of Starmer has continued with Burnham, a man whose rise to power seems manufactured. Starmer is going to actively go out there and help drum up votes for his own rival. I was in Makerfield on a couple of occasions. I’m delighted Andy Burnham won the by-election and he will be a great MP and voice for Labour. Outside of Westminster, everyone I speak to cannot get their head around the idea of changing Prime Ministers now - especially after the Tory leadership chaos they voted for Keir Starmer and The Labour Party to draw a line under. It’s time to unite and get on with governing the country. 🇬🇧

It’s not the behaviour of someone putting country or party first at a moment of crisis. It risks making the exit even messier and further damaging Labour’s reputation. The country needs a clean, orderly transition. Andy Burnham has the mandate from Makerfield to deliver real change. No more drama. Time to move forward for the country.

Book the hearse and dig the grave, because Labour are already dead. They’re a spent force, getting heckled by the working-class voters they betrayed wherever they go. Andy Burnham can’t reverse their misfortunes. Starmer taints everything he touches, including Burnham’s bid to become MP for Makerfield in the upcoming by-election. Even if Burnham wins and becomes Prime Minister, he won’t reverse mass migration. There is no fiscal headroom for his infrastructure projects and plans to nationalise key industries. The IMF has warned that no more revenue can be raised from raising taxes, and that the bond markets Burnham would rather ignore are on the brink of insolvency. So I don’t buy the polling that says Burnham could win a majority at the next general election. If he enters government, he will be bound by the same fiscal constraints, working with the same system, and have a Cabinet full of the same inadequate Ministers as Starmer has. It doesn’t matter whether Wes Streeting, Angela Rayner, Burnham, Starmer, or Larry the Cat are holding the poisoned chalice in 2029. This will be the last Labour government. The battle now is for who succeeds them.

Only five Labour leaders have won a General Election. An election-winning leader is a rare commodity in the Labour movement. Every one of us attached to the party should have huge gratitude to him and his family for making us electable once again after 14 years in the wilderness.

If you are in this country illegally, you have broken federal law. And it is the responsibility of the federal government to enforce that law, to remove you and return you to your country of origin. When leaders in blue states refuse to comply with federal authorities, they are not “resisting,” they are breaking the law themselves. You don’t get to attack law enforcement just because you don’t like the outcome of an election. If you disagree with policy, you win the next election. That’s how a constitutional republic works.

if you’re not a citizen, then yes, you’ll need a visa. And guess what? That visa will come with basic conditions, like being able to support yourself, having no criminal convictions, and speaking English. That’s not extreme, it’s protecting the public and respecting the taxpayer. And if Starmer thinks that’s racist , he’s really on the wrong side of the British people.
