what were they doing when l&t and DRDO were making prototype? why tata and mahindra where not asked to make prototype and compete with l&t-DRDO prototype? whats the point of wasting another 3-4years in making new prototype? and what if it will not up to the mark compare to L&t

Why wasn’t TASL or Mahindra asked or build the prototype whilst L&T-DRDO were making it? Who is to blame for this decision? MoD? Army? Or the entire system of DcPP and L1 bidding ? Can we ask our adversaries at the northern borders to wait until we induct light tanks?
