Landing a B-29 😎 🎥 Sporty’s

This is what pulling off the free way in my 89’ Grand Wagoneer feels like.

Now imagine it returning from a mission all shot up with one engine out with a horrendous cross wind

Right?!

I used to fly HU-16Es when I got the opportunity to fly an HC-130H it was like going from a ‘54 Ford to a ‘98 Toyota. All of a sudden I didn’t have to pump the brakes before landing, and there was NO play in the yoke or the elevators or ailerons. You get so used to “sawing” at them on final and averaging out what you want all while you are pumping the brakes…this while you are working the throttle and balancing the props and in the modern plane you simply flew it down the slot. The B-29 had the advantage of your flight engineer handling your engine controls.
