BLOOMINGTON: Eden Prairie officers were initially in pursuit of a shoplifting suspect on eastbound Hwy. 212 starting around 4:38 p.m. The pursuit was terminated but the suspect was followed on traffic cameras. Officers re-engaged their pursuit and the suspect eventually crashed into another driver near the ramp from eastbound I-494 to E. Bush Lake Rd., then continued until officers performed a PIT maneuver to disable the vehicle on southbound Bush Lake Rd. The suspect was reportedly cooperative with his hands up and was taken into custody at gunpoint, with the vehicle cleared by around 4:45 p.m.

The driver was northbound Hwy. 169, took eastbound Old Shakopee Rd., then entered southbound I-35W. Officers attempted a PIT maneuver as the suspect entered the interstate and terminated their pursuit when it was unsuccessful. The suspect exited I-35W at River Ridge Blvd., continued eastbound and eventually crashed near Cliff Fen Park, 120 Cliff Rd. E., in Burnsville. The suspect then fled on foot into some nearby woods but was apprehended after a canine was deployed. EMS was requested to respond to the park for the suspect's multiple dog bites.

🚨 LVMPD Arrests Violent Crime Suspect After High-Speed Pursuit 🚨 Earlier this morning, a murder occurred in North Las Vegas. Just 30 minutes later, LVMPD officers responded to a crash near Spring Mountain and I-15. While investigating that crash, officers were approached by a citizen who reported they had just been carjacked. Through quick investigative work, our officers determined the vehicle involved in the crash was also connected to the earlier homicide. The suspect from the murder was now also a suspect in the carjacking. Once we obtained the license plate of the carjacked vehicle, our officers and our Real-Time Crime Center tracked the suspect driving around our Downtown Area Command. Officers located the vehicle and a pursuit was initiated. The chase continued along the Boulder Highway corridor, during which the suspect carjacked a second victim at a fast-food drive-thru. Our LVMPD Air Unit maintained visual contact as the suspect reached speeds of over 105 mph. Moments later, the suspect crashed into a bus stop near Boulder Hwy & Tropicana—critically injuring one person waiting there. The suspect fled again after a third carjacking, but our officers were able to safely end the pursuit using a PIT maneuver near Sahara & Boulder Hwy. The suspect is now in custody. After locating the vehicle and confirming it was stolen, one of our officers attempted a traffic stop. The suspect chose to flee. Rather than initiate a pursuit, the officers deployed a GPS tracking device and monitored the vehicle from a safe distance. A short time later, the vehicle came to a stop in a nearby neighborhood. Officers moved in and located the suspect nearby. He attempted to run but was quickly taken into custody. During the arrest, Officers recovered a firearm from the suspect’s backpack, along with marijuana. The suspect showed signs of impairment, and a warrant for a blood draw was obtained. During the operation, an individual approached U.S. Border Patrol officers with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun. The officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted.
