Officers were advised the suspect had a known criminal history, including armed robbery. A Drone as a First Responder (DFR) pilot deployed a drone, quickly located the suspect, and saw him enter the passenger side of a vehicle in the parking lot. The DFR pilot followed the vehicle for more than a mile while providing live updates to patrol officers on the ground. With the help of the DFR, patrol officers followed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on the Hwy. 520 entrance ramp. The suspect exited the vehicle, and officers detained him without incident. On March 16, 2026, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Dallas Police officers assigned to the Project Safe Neighborhood Task Force located a vehicle that was reported stolen in an armed carjacking on March 15. The officers called for additional units and AIR-1 to maintain visual contact with the vehicle before attempting a traffic stop in the 12300 block of Greenville Avenue. As officers approached and ordered the driver to exit the vehicle, the car took off, and the officers immediately began to pursue it. With AIR-1 overhead, the suspect drove the wrong way down Greenville Avenue, and officers chased the driver onto I-635 with the suspect’s speed approaching 120 miles per hour. The suspect exited the freeway at Jupiter Road and continued to speed through residential areas. Because the helicopter was tracking the suspect, officers were able to safely navigate the residential areas and surface streets, following the suspect back onto I-635. The suspect sped through a construction zone, again reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour until he exited on Town East Boulevard and headed into the City of Mesquite, driving into oncoming traffic into the 2000 block of Town East Boulevard. With traffic building ahead, the suspect attempted to drive over the median and his vehicle became disabled. Dallas Police officers, assisted by officers from Mesquite and deputies from the Dallas Sheriff’s Office, took the suspect into custody. He was identified as 46-year-old Alfredo Hernandez and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a state jail felony; Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle, a third-degree felony; Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a second-degree felony; and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon, a third-degree felony. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues. This investigation is documented under case number 037178-2026.

🚨 LVMPD Arrests Violent Crime Suspect After High-Speed Pursuit 🚨 Earlier this morning, a murder occurred in North Las Vegas. Just 30 minutes later, LVMPD officers responded to a crash near Spring Mountain and I-15. While investigating that crash, officers were approached by a citizen who reported they had just been carjacked. Through quick investigative work, our officers determined the vehicle involved in the crash was also connected to the earlier homicide. The suspect from the murder was now also a suspect in the carjacking. Once we obtained the license plate of the carjacked vehicle, our officers and our Real-Time Crime Center tracked the suspect driving around our Downtown Area Command. Officers located the vehicle and a pursuit was initiated. The chase continued along the Boulder Highway corridor, during which the suspect carjacked a second victim at a fast-food drive-thru. Our LVMPD Air Unit maintained visual contact as the suspect reached speeds of over 105 mph. Moments later, the suspect crashed into a bus stop near Boulder Hwy & Tropicana—critically injuring one person waiting there. The suspect fled again after a third carjacking, but our officers were able to safely end the pursuit using a PIT maneuver near Sahara & Boulder Hwy. The suspect is now in custody. Stolen Guitar Recovered, Suspect Arrested Following Foot Pursuit On June 1 at approximately p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported theft in progress at 1611 Redmond Way, Redmond. A store employee reported that a suspect entered the store, stole a guitar valued at approximately $880, and fled the area on foot toward the nearby light rail station. Officers quickly located the suspect aboard a train and recovered the stolen guitar onboard. The suspect then fled from the train onto the light rail tracks and jumped an estimated 15 feet from the top of the downtown light rail station to a roof below in an attempt to evade officers. Officers established a coordinated perimeter with transit security and safely contained the area. The suspect was ultimately located and taken into custody without further incident. The stolen guitar was recovered and returned to the business. The store employee positively identified the suspect, who was taken into custody on theft and obstruction charges. SAINT PAUL: 6xx Saint Anthony Ave. - Squads were called to a burglary of an occupied residence where the suspect allegedly broke in, punched the resident, and stole their car keys before taking the car. Officers were able to track an AirPod inside the vehicle and quickly located the suspect on I-94 westbound where a pursuit was initiated. The driver crashed down an embankment before fleeing on foot. Officers engaged in a short foot pursuit before a taser was used to subdue the male suspect. Officers took the male into custody and requested EMS to respond for a medical evaluation.

Officers moved in to conduct a felony vehicle stop, but the driver took off, driving dangerously and weaving into oncoming traffic. There was no pursuit, however, the driver continued driving dangerously and eventually crashed into another vehicle near Linn Lane and Lake Mead Blvd. The person in that vehicle was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but thankfully, there were no serious injuries. The driver ran into a nearby backyard, but LVMPD's AIR5 guided officers to his location. He surrendered and was taken into custody. After he was arrested in Dallas on May 30 for allegedly driving without a valid license, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm, a suspect in Texas decided to take the police wheel into his own hands. The incident happened after the suspect secretly removed his left hand from his handcuffs. When officers began driving to jail, the suspect attempted to open the squad car's rear door, prompting the officers to get out of the car, and eventually climbed into the driver’s seat and took off. One of the officers managed to jump into the backseat of the vehicle. That officer then attempted to stop the suspect by tasing him and striking him on the side of the head with his firearm. The suspect opened the driver’s side door and jumped out after driving what police said was a distance of about 1,000 feet. At that point, the police officer was able to regain control of the patrol car, and the suspect was given medical assistance before being taken back into custody, where he faces numerous charges.

The suspect vehicle was able to avoid capture (for the time being), however, all $1,779.79 of the merchandise was recovered. The suspect, who is on parole for being a felon who possessed a firearm, was booked for grand theft, organized retail theft, conspiracy, and put on a parole hold.

The driver accelerated well above the posted speed limit and failed to stop, ignoring emergency lights and sirens. The vehicle continued through Redmond, running red lights, making dangerous turns, and driving at high speeds. At one point, the driver returned toward an officer, flashing high beams in an apparent attempt to provoke a pursuit, and drove into oncoming traffic. Due to the reckless behavior and risk to the public, officers did not engage in a pursuit. Multiple drones were deployed remotely from docking locations throughout the city by a single Drone as First Responder (DFR) pilot, allowing officers to maintain continuous visual contact with the vehicle as it drove recklessly across Redmond. With assistance from aerial support, officers tracked the vehicle as it continued driving dangerously through the area, including SR-520 and downtown Redmond. Spike strips were successfully deployed, and the vehicle was later located at an apartment complex. Officers conducted a high-risk stop, and the driver was taken into custody without incident. The individual was arrested for eluding a police vehicle and further investigated for DUI. The driver was under the legal drinking age, and an open alcoholic beverage was found inside the vehicle. Quick thinking #DCSO deputies catch another auto theft suspect. On Monday night, patrol deputies responded to a report of an in-progress vehicle theft on Mill Vista Road in Highlands Ranch. Responding deputies quickly established a perimeter and began searching the area. The vehicle was located, occupied, in a parking garage on Mill Vista Road. Upon observing law enforcement in the area, the suspect vehicle attempted to back out of a parking space. The deputy activated the patrol vehicle's emergency lights and pulled forward to signal the suspect to stop. The suspect vehicle accelerated forward, scraping, and colliding with the front passenger side push bumper of the patrol vehicle. The vehicle ran a stop sign and sped away. Deputies pursued the vehicle for a short distance, and the suspect vehicle spun out of control and rolled backwards into a metal railing, where it was pinned in place by deputies. The suspect, later identified as Armon Chism (DOB: 05/15/1982), of Denver, fled from the vehicle, and a short foot pursuit was initiated by pursuing deputies. The suspect was placed into custody after a successful taser deployment. While conducting their investigation, deputies were able to establish probable cause that Chism was a suspect in an earlier vehicle pursuit of a stolen Hyundai Tucson at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and County Line Road. Chism was found to be in possession of the stolen Hyundai ignition key and the vehicle was recovered nearby. Chism was booked into the Douglas County Jail for investigation of Motor Vehicle Theft, Vehicular Eluding, Obstructing a Peace Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), Protection Order Violation, and Criminal Impersonation. Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly said, “We will not allow criminals to victimize Douglas County residents. We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community will continue to work tirelessly to protect our residents and their property. I am so proud of my deputies who responded quickly and didn’t give up until this suspect was in custody.”

The suspect vehicle accelerated forward, scraping, and colliding with the front passenger side push bumper of the patrol vehicle. The vehicle ran a stop sign and sped away. Deputies pursued the vehicle for a short distance, and the suspect vehicle spun out of control and rolled backwards into a metal railing, where it was pinned in place by deputies. The suspect, later identified as Armon Chism (DOB: 05/15/1982), of Denver, fled from the vehicle, and a short foot pursuit was initiated by pursuing deputies. The suspect was placed into custody after a successful taser deployment. While conducting their investigation, deputies were able to establish probable cause that Chism was a suspect in an earlier vehicle pursuit of a stolen Hyundai Tucson at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and County Line Road. Chism was found to be in possession of the stolen Hyundai ignition key and the vehicle was recovered nearby. Chism was booked into the Douglas County Jail for investigation of Motor Vehicle Theft, Vehicular Eluding, Obstructing a Peace Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), Protection Order Violation, and Criminal Impersonation. Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly said, “We will not allow criminals to victimize Douglas County residents. We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community will continue to work tirelessly to protect our residents and their property. I am so proud of my deputies who responded quickly and didn’t give up until this suspect was in custody.”

According to police, the incident began in Hoboken, New Jersey, where the suspect allegedly abducted his ex-girlfriend. New Jersey police were tracking the vehicle and notified NYPD Staten Island that it was heading over the Goethals Bridge into Staten Island. The vehicle was reported to have mismatched plates. Officers from the NYPD 62nd Precinct located the vehicle as it continued along the Belt Parkway. Officers attempted to block the vehicle, but the suspect forced his way through, leading to a pursuit. As the suspect attempted to evade police, he sideswiped multiple vehicles, including NYPD police cars, along the Belt Parkway, causing a series of collisions. With the assistance of an NYPD Special Ops helicopter, officers from the NYPD 61st Precinct, NYPD 60th Precinct and officers from MTA Police Department - the helicopter tracked the vehicle from above while units coordinated on the ground. The suspect was ultimately boxed in near the Knapp Street exit on the Belt Parkway and was taken into custody.
