Officers later located the man near the old CSPD building and at some point he was holding the knife. Officers say they negotiated with the man for several minutes as he sat the knife on the ground. The man would later attempt to go back to the knife where an officer used a less lethal weapon to keep him from reaching the knife. He was safely taken into custody without further incident.
