Unfortunately, neither the RMP operator nor the recorder was watching the roadway. No shout of Stop, No Brake, No EVOC 💩, just drove straight into the fossil turning left. Terrible day for all.

Reason #1 why LE should wear seatbelts. I know so many guys I used to work with who just refuse to and it’s such a bad idea

Sorry, those cops are absolutely guilty of not looking ahead while driving. You can watch it and see just when you would start to slam on your brakes. Cops aren't ever going to be as good at all aspects of their jobs as they used to be, just like the rest of it I guess.

Cops aren’t supposed to be going above the posted speed limit even with lights on; they were definitely partly to blame here

They can go like 15 mph over. Depending on dept policy.

🚨 NEW DETAILS EMERGE IN SHOOTING THAT LEFT 3 PHILADELPHIA OFFICERS WOUNDED 🚨 New information is emerging about the man accused of shooting three Philadelphia police officers during a confrontation in Wynnefield over the weekend. Authorities have identified the suspect as Eric Franks, 57, who was killed during an exchange of gunfire with police Saturday night. According to family members and friends, Franks was a retired Philadelphia firefighter, a Marine Corps veteran, and the owner of two businesses in the neighborhood where the shooting occurred. The incident began shortly after 10:30 p.m. near 54th and Arlington Streets, where officers were investigating reports of a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. Police say Franks approached the crime scene and became involved in a confrontation with officers. According to investigators, officers attempted to explain the active investigation and establish a perimeter, but Franks became increasingly agitated. Authorities allege Franks shoved a police sergeant before officers attempted to take him into custody. Police say Franks then produced a firearm and opened fire, striking three officers. 🚔 One officer shot in the face 🚔 One officer shot in the hip 🚔 One officer shot in the leg All three officers survived and are expected to recover. Police say officers returned fire, striking Franks multiple times. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Investigators recovered a 9mm handgun from the scene that police say Franks was legally licensed to carry. Friends and family members have expressed shock over the incident and say they are searching for answers about what led to the deadly confrontation. Authorities have stated that preliminary evidence indicates Franks was not connected to the original shooting investigation that officers were handling. The shooting remains under investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office. 📍 Wynnefield, Philadelphia ⚠️ Investigation Ongoing
