The response to the aftermath of Russia’s attack is still ongoing in Kyiv: first responders are clearing the rubble, searching for people, and providing assistance. Damage has been reported at more than 20 sites across the city, most of them ordinary residential buildings. There was also damage to an ambulance station, a research institute, a hotel, and businesses. As of now, we know that, tragically, 13 people were killed in this Russian strike. My condolences to their families and loved ones. More than 90 others were injured. Everyone who needs help is receiving all necessary assistance. Five people were wounded in the Kharkiv region, including a child, and two more in the Kyiv region, where civilian infrastructure was also targeted. Overnight, Russia also struck the Sumy, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Cherkasy regions. In total, Russia launched more than 70 missiles of various types against Ukraine overnight, nearly half of them ballistic missiles, along with almost 500 attack drones, including jet-powered “shaheds.” The main strike was directed at Kyiv. Our air defenders managed to shoot down a significant number of the incoming targets, but not all of them. Air defense supplies for Ukraine are an absolute and critical priority. Contributions to the PURL program remain essential – they directly help save lives. Every bilateral agreement we reach with our partners on air defense truly makes a difference. I am grateful to every leader who is helping. It is especially important that we move forward with implementing our agreements on the production of anti-ballistic capabilities. We also very much count on a decision by the United States regarding licenses for Patriots and other forms of cooperation. These are the kinds of steps that can stop this war and prevent attacks like this. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine, with our people, and with our efforts to protect life.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський: Right now in Kyiv, our first responders are working at the sites of russian strikes. The main russian attack overnight targeted the capital and the region, causing extensive damage to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure across the city. As of now, thirteen people are reported injured and, sadly, six killed. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. There is also destruction in the Odesa region – the ports, food supplies, and infrastructure were hit, with no military purpose whatsoever. They also struck Dnipro, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy regions. The primary targets were the energy sector and everything that keeps normal life going. In total, the Russians launched 22 missiles of various types, including aeroballistic ones, and more than 460 drones, most of them russian-Iranian “shaheds.” It is known that four drones crossed into the airspace of our neighbors – Moldova and Romania – with the exact overflight times confirmed. This is precisely why all partners must remember that lives need to be saved every single day. Weapons and air defense systems are important, as is the sanctions pressure on the aggressor. There can be no pauses in assistance. What matters most now is that all partners move toward diplomacy together, through joint efforts. Pressure on Russia must deliver results. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine.

I received reports from Sergii Koretskyi, Mykhailo Drapatyi, and Viktor Mykyta on the consequences of Russian strikes on Odesa, Kharkiv, Pavlohrad, and our other regions. In Odesa and the region, repair work is ongoing to restore power supply to people after a brutal strike on the energy sector. All necessary services are involved, and the work will continue for as long as needed. Residential buildings and the port were also damaged overnight. This is, in particular, how Russia is systematically waging war against global food security. As of now, eight people are known to have been injured. Everyone is receiving assistance. In Kharkiv, a direct drone strike destroyed four floors of an ordinary residential high-rise. Dozens of people were wounded, and two people were killed. My condolences… In Pavlohrad, there was an absolutely wicked strike near a shopping mall and on energy infrastructure. Nine people were injured in the city, including four children. There were also strikes on the Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. Russia continues to bet on ballistic terror, which is not limited to just one city or community. This week alone, 61 missiles of various types were used against Ukraine, including 56 that strike along a ballistic trajectory. There were also more than 1,560 attack drones and 1,540 aerial bombs. Every such attack on human life serves as a constant reminder – we need more pressure, more sanctions against Russia, and more air defense for Ukraine. I am grateful to those who are helping.

I thank all our people, all repair crews working around the clock to restore the energy sector after Russian strikes. In every city, in every community, you are restoring light, heating, and water supplies in harsh weather conditions. This is extremely hard work, but it is precisely this kind of effort that strengthens our country’s internal resilience and supports our positions in diplomacy. The situation in the energy system remains difficult, but we are doing everything we can to restore all services as quickly as possible. And last night, over 200 strike drones were launched against us. The Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, and Odesa regions came under attack. Dozens of people have been injured, including a child. As of now, two people have been reported killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. This week alone has seen more than 1,300 attack drones, around 1,050 guided aerial bombs and 29 missiles of various types in total. That is why Ukraine still needs more protection – above all, more missiles for air defense systems. If Russia is deliberately dragging out the diplomatic process, the world’s response must be decisive: more assistance for Ukraine and more pressure on the aggressor. I thank all our partners who stand with us now, who are ready to help protect lives and strengthen Ukraine, and to work together to restore security.

Since last night, response efforts have been underway in Kyiv and the surrounding region following Russia’s strike. There were numerous fires across the city. Seven districts were affected, and, as usual, the Russians struck ordinary residential buildings. Eighteen residential buildings, a school, the Lithuanian Embassy, and infrastructure facilities were damaged. As of now, nine people have been reported killed in this attack. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Dozens of people were injured. Medical teams are helping everyone who needs it. Overnight, the Russians launched 35 missiles at Ukraine, including 27 ballistic missiles, as well as 185 attack drones of various types. Kyiv was the primary target, but strikes also hit the Dnipro, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions. Only one ballistic missile was intercepted, simply because there are no interceptors for the Patriot systems. And it is this shortage of ballistic missile interceptors that only encourages Russia to launch such attacks that take human lives. It is critical that partners hear that these capabilities are needed not somewhere in stockpiles for hypothetical scenarios, but here and now, to contain and stop the Russian war in Ukraine. Every package of ballistic missile interceptors saves the lives of our people. And every night without them results in more casualties. I thank everyone who is working to strengthen our defenses.

Last night, Russia struck Odesa with attack drones. Residential buildings, a kindergarten, and a district power substation have been damaged. Thousands of families have been left without electricity. Repair crews have been working since the night to restore power supply. As of now, tragically, three people have been reported killed in this attack, including a child – just two years old. My sincere condolences to the families and loved ones. Sixteen people have been wounded. Eleven of them have been hospitalized by our medics, including a pregnant woman and two children. The youngest is not even a year old. Two people have also been injured in the Kharkiv region. Energy infrastructure was struck in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipro regions. I thank our emergency services helping on the ground. In total, overnight, the Russians launched more than 140 attack drones against Ukraine, nearly 80 of them “shaheds.” In some regions, strikes are still ongoing. And this is only part of what our people endure every day. During the past week, over 2,800 attack drones were used, along with nearly 1,350 guided aerial bombs, and more than 40 missiles of various types. Right now, all partners need to strengthen air defense together so that the interception rate of drones and missiles continues to increase. This is a daily effort for everyone, not just Ukraine, because through supplies, support for us, and joint work, our partners are helping themselves as well. Russia has no intention of stopping. I thank everyone who understands this and contributes to our shared defense.

A rescue operation is currently underway in Kyiv at the site of a Russian drone strike on a nine-story residential building – an entire section of the building has been completely destroyed. Dozens of people have been rescued. Tragically, one person has been killed. My condolences to their family and loved ones. People may still be trapped under the rubble. Overnight, the Russians launched more than 670 attack drones and 56 missiles against Ukraine. Ballistic, aeroballistic, and cruise missiles were used in the strikes. The main target of this attack was Kyiv. There is damage at twenty locations across the city – ordinary residential buildings, a school, a veterinary clinic, and other purely civilian infrastructure. Destruction has also been reported in the Kyiv region, while similar terrorist strikes targeted energy infrastructure in Kremenchuk, as well as port and residential areas in Chornomorsk. In total, since midnight yesterday, Russia has used more than 1,560 drones against our cities and communities. These are definitely not the actions of those who believe the war is coming to an end. It is important that partners do not remain silent about this strike. And it is equally important to continue supporting the protection of our skies. The PURL initiative is needed so that Ukraine can defend itself against ballistic strikes like these. And likewise, in the interests of everyone seeking peace, pressure on Russia must continue. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine.
