Last week, NYC hosted Climate week. Today, it’s underwater. Every day, it's becoming more obvious: Climate change isn't a far-off threat - it's impacting us right here, right now. #NYCFlood

Fixing #climatechange doesn't mean warm beer

I've never seen so much extreme flooding from so many different places in the past year and a half! Numerous 1/100 year events! It's almost unreal!

Parallel: Earlier this week, I was in Ottawa for #TACconf. Later this week, New York is underwater. And this is exactly what engineers expect thanks to climate scientists teaching climate change. We’re adapting to global weirding. But can only go so far. We’re all at risk.

@Bisol I know you are not an alarmist or doomer but I have to ask…did the topic of NYC’s future come up? Because I just cannot see how with its aging infrastructure it is going to keep up with rising seas and more severe weather. 50 more years of being habitable seems generous.

I know it sounds awful, but we need more such events in NY, Paris, London etc for the world leaders to even notice. Polynesian islands lost to rising sea levels or Jakarta being abandoned wouldn't make much of a difference to our rich western leaders

@DebiJackson50 So very sad! Climate change is real! ❤️
