Lat pulldowns only work if you own the top. Arms long. Pause. Then pull. If the torso starts doing the work, drop a plate. Full stretch or extra weight : which one are you choosing?

Have you ever stepped a foot in gym?

btw they work if you dont pause at full stretch, they work if you dont full stretch at all + the way you are leaning back it makes it even more of an upper back/traps exercise than lats. educate yourself, build a good body and then teach people, not the other way around.

Everyone has different muscle attachments and fibre endings. The ROM which is particularly suitable for your muscle might not benefit me and vice versa. It all depends on stretch and contraction. You might get a better contraction at slightly less ROM does not means that would apply to everyone. Get yourself educated first

@buen0_bet Yeah man, even for a natural it's not the best physique. You need a few more years there.

@buen0_bet Yeah, will agree on that. Just getting started. Its been around 2.5 years since I have joined the gym. I was an obese individual weighing around 105kgs. Now i am around 65 kgs. So yes i agree there is a lot of room for improvement.

Still it's not a lat pulldown form It's mixture of lat pulldown and rows In lat pulldown you don't have to arch back Pulling bar till the chin while bearing straight and core tight

If it gives you better results do be it

@Prateekrai56299 Make up your mind, bud. Either something "only work if...", as you said, or do what works for you...

Full stretch every time. I’d rather own the movement than ego-lift a heavier stack. But how much weight do you think is too much before form starts falling apart?

Alpha_101 profil fotoğrafı
Alpha_1011 ay önce

I try to do 2-3 sets with strict form and 1-2 sets focusing more on weight stacking to build strength and progress on them

Yeah this is poor technique. Plus based on your size and lift weight, you must be pretty new at this.

2-3 second squeeze at the end point wouldn't hurt either.😉

They only work if you own the whole exercise. Both eccentric and concentric. I agree, make sure you stretch out on the top as much as you can. But don't focus on only one part.

Big controlled stretch is the one. Build the foundations from deep in the stretch. Longevity 101

Why is your whole torso moving, your head should be completely still, this is crap

Youre leaning back way too much. Using momentum. Youre contradicting your own comment - ‘torso starts doing the work’ because your torso pretty much is

Full stretch every single time. That extra weight is just ego if your lats aren't actually doing the heavy lifting.

+elbows slightly in front, arms could be kept closer, first bring the weight down a bit and lean back afterwards just to clear the head of bar path..

Arms completely long will remove tension from the lats and end up working the biceps.

Look you’ve achieved your gym goals but don’t teach people bad posture and ego lifting. You are clearly pulling using your arms and only activating lats when you lean back so much which also enables traps and upper chest. It’s not even a half-rep on the lats specifically.

1st - AI slop 2nd - "If the torso starts doing the work” where do you think the LATS are located? So you want people to turn it into a biceps curl?

That lean back with each rep is unnecessary it’s to heavy for you , pull down with your elbows & keep your not totally straight but don’t use leverage which ur doing in this video
