Lately, I've been testing a static camera that doesn't follow the player for some levels. The goal is to use it in small scenes to highlight important events and give an even stronger diorama vibe. What do you think? 🤔

I like it. At the same time, if it can be a toggle option after initially seeing it that would be cool too. It would really depend on how it plays out through the rest of the game. This clip so far looks really well done though!

Thanks!

Static cameras are cool 😎 it's a great resource for small scenarios or places where you don't need to show more than necessary You should use them, maybe it could be cooler if you add a little rotation from the pov of the camera when players approaches to the limits of the map

Thanks for the feedback! Yep, a little rotation could be a nice touch :)

I love it. It also gives you the option to get really creative and expressive with the art direction of any one location. Creating interesting compositions etc.

It reminds me of Ni No Kuni. It's actually super cool, just keep in mind it has to be big enough for users in Nintendo switch or Steam Deck if you're planning on releasing there. It's the only problem that comes to my mind about it

Good point, I'll definitely have to test it on those consoles to see how it feels. Thanks for the feedback, Víctor!

That's totally 90s thing to do! I liek it!

Thanks! :D

Looks great. For sure working for small areas.

Thank you!
