I view Donald Trump's candidacy as high risk with low reward. Because I think as a lame duck with poor personnel and the distractions, it’s going to be hard for him to get this done. My candidacy is lower risk — because we’ll run Biden ragged around this country — but high reward. Because you get a two term conservative president who’s going to stand for your values and deliver for you for eight full years.

Africa has a lower debt default rate than any other emerging market. But, according to a Bloomberg report, Africa pays $75 billion more per year in “prejudice premium” borrowing costs compared to others. This has to change. I spoke about this at the AIM summit in Dubai (video). The change has to start with the major rating agencies who overweight the perception of risk compared to the data supported lower default real risk.

This needs immediate attention American Surgeon Dr Elizabeth Potter blowing the whistle on a new bill Congress just put out The new bill takes away insurance companies liability to have to pay for breast cancer reconstructive surgery on all high risk prevention patients “There is a bill that has been introduced in Congress that, on the outside, looks like it might be a really good thing for the patients that I care for, for patients affected by breast cancer. But on the inside, there's some real problems with it, and I need your help in raising awareness about that. So when I see a patient who has breast cancer or a risk of breast cancer, there's one thing that I always say to them, and it's so important. It's that the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 guarantees that if their insurance company covers their mastectomy, they have to cover their reconstruction. So as you can imagine, when women hear that, they're so relieved, right? They're like, "Okay, I have to lose my breast, but I'm gonna be able to have reconstruction." That all changes “The number one thing is that previously in the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act, coverage for all breast reconstruction really hinged on one thing, and that was if your insurance covers your mastectomy, they have to cover your reconstruction. When I read this new bill, I looked for that, and what I saw was that they had changed that fundamental thing. They changed that to say now reconstruction hinges on a diagnosis of breast cancer. That may sound similar, but that means that all of our patients with BRCA1 and BRCA2, all of our patients with other high risk for breast cancer, they would not have coverage for breast reconstruction under this new act, and there's no other thing that's providing coverage. So this new amendment would remove coverage for breast reconstruction for all of those patients” The bill limits coverage to those with a formal breast cancer diagnosis (excluding high-risk preventive cases like BRCA1/2 mutations) and tying reimbursements to outdated CPT codes instead of modern ones (like S codes for muscle-sparing reconstructions).

It also requires identifying and mitigating risks that could impose significant financial liabilities on the Government in the future. When the DMK Government assumed office in 2021,Tamil Nadu was facing numerous high-risk litigations involving taxation, land acquisition, personnel-related matters, and procurement disputes, many of which carried the potential to impose substantial financial burdens on the State Recognising the need for a more structured approach, Dr. Dr P Thiaga Rajan (PTR) announced the creation of a Litigation Risk Management System in the 2021-22 Budget to proactively identify, monitor, and manage cases with significant fiscal implications for the Government. As part of this initiative, the Government constituted a high-level Litigation Advisory and Oversight Committee (LAOC) under the chairmanship of Justice K. Kannan, former Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, along with experts in direct taxation, indirect taxation, civil litigation, public finance, and legal affairs. The system introduced a coordinated framework for identifying High Risk Litigations, providing strategic legal guidance, strengthening inter-departmental coordination, and monitoring cases through a dedicated High-Risk Litigation window within the Integrated Court Case Monitoring System (ICCMS). Within its first year, the Committee conducted 14 meetings and provided guidance on 26 high-risk cases across 14 Government departments. The initiative subsequently expanded, with 37 high-risk litigations across 15 departments receiving strategic guidance, while 88 high-risk cases across 10 departments are currently being monitored under the system. More than a legal reform, the Litigation Risk Management System represented an important institutional reform in public finance management, helping the Government anticipate potential liabilities, reduce fiscal risks, and strengthen long-term financial sustainability. — Admin Team
