I am still confused about the rooftop carrier law. Different opinions by different MV Act experts. Some say it’s not part of section 52, but only illegal in some states due to RC violation. I’ll looking forward to put a carrier on my Thar but haven’t till date due to this confusion.

MH govt has neither the will nor the courage to enforce rule of law as far as traffic is concerned. Forget about HSRP implementation on pre 2019 vehicles. HSRP is already mandatory (and plates provided by RTO, without which the dealer isn't supposed to deliver the vehicle) for vehicles from 2019 onwards and even these vehicles freely roam around with illegal plates or even no plates, and no action seen to be taken. महाराष्ट्र पोलीस - Maharashtra Police hope u realise the kind of security risk such vehicles are.

I expect that the EU u Srbiji, Marta Kos, A von Beckerath and others will immediately condemn the violent protests in Belgrade and the attacks on Serbian police. The rule of law should be respected equally by all. If scenes like these were taking place on the streets of Brussels, the police would act without hesitation to restore order, and such an unregistered protest would be dispersed within minutes. I expect those same standards to be applied in the case of Serbia.

A group of young teenagers were hanging outside moving vehicles, recklessly putting their lives and the lives of other road users at risk as if they were acting in a movie. This kind of impunity cannot be tolerated in a country governed by the rule of law. Three vehicles were being driven by drivers who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. I believe many of these children have been given too much freedom by their parents, to the extent that they think having money places them above the law. I call upon the Inspector General of Police and the Nairobi Traffic Police to investigate this incident thoroughly, impound the vehicles if the law permits, and take appropriate legal action against the drivers and vehicle owners where offences have been committed. Any minors found engaging in such dangerous behaviour should receive appropriate intervention and counselling, while those responsible for endangering them should be held accountable. No one is above the law. Reckless behaviour on our roads must come to an end before innocent lives are lost.

There is no provision in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 that allows a traffic inspector or constable to physically assault a citizen. ⚖️ What the law actually allows Traffic police can: Stop vehicles for checking Verify documents (DL, RC, insurance, etc.) Issue challans or fines Detain a vehicle in certain violations But use of force is strictly limited and must follow legal procedure only in situations like self-defence or preventing a serious offence, and even then it must be reasonable and proportionate. 🚫 Assault is illegal If a police officer hits or assaults someone, it can amount to: Assault / hurt under the Indian Penal Code Misuse of power / misconduct under police service rules 🛑 What you can do Record the incident (if safe) Note badge number / vehicle number File a complaint with senior police officials Approach the State Human Rights Commission or court 👉 Authority does not give the right to violence. It is about easing the pain Shiva bears by holding poison in his throat through pouring pure waters of Maa Ganga on him.. The goal is to share pain and miseries, not to create havoc on other creatures. The Kavad Yatra has become a nightmare for common people on the road. What you see now are not pilgrims but mob mentality. The huge DJs and blaring music, which have nothing to do with spirituality, are now a major menace. You will understand the power of noise when, in your vehicle, you pass next to these DJs; your vehicle shakes. Sometimes, they clear traffic like police pilot vehicles do for netas and bureaucrats- same entitlement of power and authority. God forbid if you touch any of the Kavadis; rest assured you will be beaten black and blue. Urgent reforms are needed in the execution of Kavad Yatra. No DJS, only on foot, and hooligans should be put behind bars. Enough is enough- each year, it is getting worse.

Male’ has a volume issue. Vehicle owners will not switch to buses. The people who use buses are those who find taxis too expensive or who have no other options. Those who own vehicles will not switch to buses cause a private vehicle offers convenience and flexibility that buses don’t. Buses in Male’ are a last resort, economical option for the people who use them. They should not be viewed as a traffic congestion solving policy. Increasing the number of buses will only take up more road space in Male’ and will not reduce the number of private vehicles and taxis. The only way to solve the congestion is to limit the number of vehicles.

ULEZ is expanding across all London boroughs from the 29 August this year to help clear London's air. Those in receipt of certain disability benefits currently qualify for a temporary 100% discount. So do disabled people whose vehicles are registered with the DVLA as having disabled or disabled passenger vehicle tax class. There are also exemptions and temporary discounts for certain wheelchair-accessible vehicles, minibuses used for community transport, historic vehicles and some other vehicles too. Eligible NHS patients may also be able to claim back the charge after they've paid. Remember: if your vehicle is registered for an exemption or temporary discount you may still need to pay the ULEZ charge if you drive a different vehicle that doesn't meet the ULEZ emission standards in the zone. 9 out of 10 cars seen driving in outer London already meet the ULEZ emission standards, based on monthly average compliance levels. Tatenda Mavetera, together with TelOne, have developed a system where if you commit traffic offences such as running a red robot, dangerous parking, and other road violations, you will be detected by cameras? In fact, this system is already in place — it only remains to be officially launched very soon. The system will be managed by the Ministry of ICT, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Transport, and the City Council. I think City Parking Pvt Ltd should simply be empowered so that whenever you park illegally and are caught on camera, they can clamp your vehicle immediately.
