He fully supported President Trump, did not want Iran to have a nuke, *and also* did not want a prolonged war with US involvement. He knew that military strikes in the Middle East were serious interventions that could easily go south. He proceeded cautiously; cautiously optimistic might be a good term. He weighed risk vs. reward. But never turned on Trump. He trusted him totally. He was consistent and clear about that. Anyone telling you otherwise is lying.
