LeBlanc: We continue to believe, as do the Mexicans, that the sectoral tariffs that the US have applied are causing considerable economic discomfort in all three countries and having a negative effect on consumer prices in the US. We made that case to Ambassador Greer.

USTR Jamieson Greer stood alongside Canada-US Trade Minister Dominic Leblanc and told media in DC that "We feel confident we have reached an agreement ... that will strengthen the North American economy" He added they are looking at documentation so he can brief congress and US stakeholders, adding they have "we have eliminated some of the irritants" and he is "very happy with where we ended up" On supply management, Leblanc said "We needed to ensure that the supply management regime remained entirely intact and I'm confident that that's the case" #cdnpoli

Tariffs 101: Tariffs are not paid by countries. Canada does not pay them to the US. Likewise, the US does not pay them to Canada. The importer from that country imposing the tariffs, pays it. For example, if Trump imposes 50% tariffs on trucks made by GM, but GM made them in Canada. GM is paying $50K in tariffs. Not Canada. And that $50K extra in tariffs, is ultimately paid by the consumer. Ultimately, it's a tax paid by businesses, passed down to the consumer of the country that imposed the tariffs. Likewise, Canada imposing tariffs on the US, only hurts Canadian customers. Countertariffs are done strategically, to prevent the flight of manufacturing, from Canada, to the US. In the end, during trade wars like this, consumers always end up paying the price.

The tariffs are genius and explained here. I don’t understand why people are up in arms about President Trump’s tariffs. These are RECIPROCAL tariffs. These countries have already been imposing their tariffs on us for decades. We finally have a President who is saying “hey bud, if you are going to charge us, we are going to charge you the same in return. How is that a bad thing? The bad part is we have had these weak Presidents in the past that never did anything about it.

The tariffs are genius and explained here. I don’t understand why people are up in arms about President Trump’s tariffs. These are RECIPROCAL tariffs. These countries have already been imposing their tariffs on us for decades. They want us to believe that parasites are exclusive to underdeveloped countries. They want us oblivious to the fact that these parasites are the root of many health conditions. They want us to think that IF by chance we even had parasites that we would be vomiting, ill, and in pain. When in fact these guys 🪱 can be thriving inside of us as we remain entirely asymptomatic. Until years down the road when we are diagnosed with a mysterious “condition” The veil is being lifted, we are collectively waking up & there is nothing that can stand in the way.
