This.👆🏻 Nobody is arguing that trade union money should be exempt from scrutiny. But pretending millions of members collectively funding political activity is equivalent to TWO individuals writing £36 MILLION cheques is absurd. Both are political donations. They are not the same concentration of financial power. Scrutinise both. Regulate both. Stop pretending £72m from two billionaires is just ordinary grassroots fundraising.

And union members have to agree to the donation individually Thatcher made those changes!
