He speaks more truth to power than they can handle. 1⃣ We are far more dependent on the 🇺🇸 than they are on us. 2⃣ If 🇨🇦 cannot maintain the current level of free trade in the negotiation, it will be catastrophic for our economy. 3⃣ The only meaningful way to diversify away from the 🇺🇸 is with greater energy exports but the “Laurentian consensus” has severely hindered this. 4⃣ If there’s any change to the level of access the 🇨🇦 auto sector has to the 🇺🇸, we will lose the industry.

Explosive stuff that totally refutes Carney's narrative. 1⃣ The Tuesday before there was agreement on details including all the tariff rates. Talks have been on trade that is already happening & doesn’t move the needle. 2⃣ Rules of origin remains an issue. The 🇺🇸 wants to ensure 🇨🇦 content in exported products adheres to the agreement. 3⃣ On dairy, 🇨🇦 continues to violate the terms while giving preferential access to the EU. Banning products (alcohol) is also a violation. The 🇺🇸 has not banned any 🇨🇦 products. 4⃣ Auto manufacturing is moving to the 🇺🇸 regardless of the negotiations. 5⃣ Talks will continue but the 🇺🇸 wants outcomes. 🧑‍⚖️ CBC had trade lawyer Barry Appleton analyze Jamieson Greer's interview with Rosemary Barton on why the trade talks broke down. 1⃣ Even though Appleton has swilled the Carney Kool-Aid on the version of events hard, he complimented Greer. 2⃣ Incredibly, he believes that Carney rejected the deal because of what is ALREADY in USMCA & that Carney wants the original deal changed! 3⃣ He warned that if 🇨🇦 counter-tariffs kick in on Sept 8, the 🇺🇸 will likely retaliate with bans & we will see a lot of pain over the next 2-3 weeks. 🍷 50% of all 🇨🇦 alcohol sales go to the 🇺🇸.
