one minor nitpick, cuz your argument is that sound. Slavery is still legal in the US. the 13th amendment did not abolish slavery, it enshrined it by making it legal for judiciary branch of the government to use slavery as punishment. America is by and large still a slave state.

Conservative whites think all of those things are legal. They never stopped.
