It is imperative that Bitcoin reach a state whereby blockspace demand consistently exceeds blockspace supply. It needs to happen soon as we are less than 10 years from subsidy being only 0.39 BTC and miner income is already a concern. A wonderful side effect of quantum readiness will be putting us in the position of blockspace demand exceeding supply. It would be prudent to let the network exist in this state for an extended period of time (years but maybe forever) before even whispering about a blocksize increase. Any increase to blocksize without a firm understanding of the demand/supply dynamics would be EXTREMELY dangerous.

Real long-term issue, not an immediate threat. Post-quantum signatures are much larger, so they could pressure block space and revive the block-size debate. Bitcoin would likely upgrade well before quantum computers can actually break keys.
