Wang says China’s door for more Canadian crude oil “will be open.” That’s a win-win for Canada and lets us diversify our markets so we’re less dependent on the United States. It’s time for Canada to build an oil pipeline to the west coast.

Now is the time to secure our southern border from illegal migration and drug trafficking, and reach out to our friends and allies in the U.S. to remind them just how much Americans and Canadians mutually benefit from our trade relationship - and what we can do to grow that partnership further. At a time when Alberta independence is surging & with the wars in Ukraine & Iran, one would think it would make perfect business sense to build a pipeline east. Instead of record deficits, a nation building Energy East project would turn Canada into a long term supplier of fuels to the massive EU economy. Hungary would suffer if it was cut off from Russian energy, the country's FM Szijjártó said during the Russian Energy Week (!). "We really cherish our cooperation with our Russian partners and colleagues in the field of energy. Why? Because of our experience. And my question is: why should we cut this relationship? Physically speaking, if we are being cut from the Russian gas source, the remaining infrastructure will not be able to supply the country. If the oil pipeline Druzhba is being phased out, the remaining infrastructure cannot supply the country," Szijjártó said.

So why would Albertans voluntarily weaken our own position before those negotiations reach their most difficult point? You don’t have to support independence today to understand leverage. A strong Option 2 vote keeps pressure on Ottawa. It tells them Alberta cannot simply be taken for granted and makes using our economy as somebody else’s bargaining chip politically much more dangerous. The trade war is creating the pressure. October 19 determines whether Alberta faces it from a position of strength. Don’t surrender the leverage before we’ve even had the chance to use it. Vote Option 2. #LetAlbertaDecide #Option2
