Why won't we get this if we live in a country where we have turned our rivers and streams into sewers and storm drains. We don't have a proper way of discharging waste into our water bodies. Never think it is only galamsey that is polluting our water bodies.

Residents of Bronkhorstspruit, in the past several months our teams have invested in upgrading the water treatment plant with an effort to improve its efficiency. We are currently working with the National Department of Water and Sanitation to resolve the sludge problem that has for years affected the City’s ability to pump water to the treatment plant. There's a fish called the Smelt and we have far more fresh water runoff into the ocean than we should on the theory that it helps this one little fish that likes this fresh/salt water mix. But there's no evidence of this. So we should have more fresh water. This is just an example, but we would have saved a lot of trouble if we had done that."

Tshwane-owned water tankers are on the road providing water to residents. We recently announced that we are abandoning contracted services for water tankers. From 1 April, City staff have been working to provide water to residents in need. We visited Hammanskraal hydrant collection points this morning along with Ward Councillors and MMC for Utility Services Cllr Frans Boshielo. While work is underway to stabilise water supply through infrastructure maintenance and repairs, residents must continue to receive adequate water supply. All these efforts form part our Water Stabilisation Plan that’s backed by funding from the City’s budget. City of Tshwane
