the ide is the intern now

Glad theres control over when it acts. Id still want a human on that final merge for a while

The naive "Vibe Coders" think that letting an autonomous agent self-approve and auto-merge its own Pull Requests is pure efficiency, completely blind to the silent architecture erosion and security compliance debt. It is genuinely terrifying to watch teams trust an unverified agentic loop with main branch synchronization operations without staging environment assertions. The deterministic guardrail architecture for autonomous agentic PR execution loops: # Realized Mechanics: Pipeline Guardrail and Static Analysis Integration Gateway def verify_pipeline_state(): # Enforcing strict programmatic validation gates over autonomous code delivery git_protected_branch = "main" agent_compliance_status = False static_analysis_pass = True if static_analysis_pass and not agent_compliance_status: raise ValueError("Deployment Halted: Autonomous agent loops lack state-machine guardrails.") if __name__ == "__main__": verify_pipeline_state()

VS Code letting an agent babysit CI and resolve conflicts on the PR is useful but I still want a human looking at the diff before anything merges

The useful part is the review loop: agents do the busy work, while humans still control checks and merge. That is safer than blind auto-merge.

sounds pretty handy, tbh. lowkey love when tech just handles stuff so i don't have to. 🔥

I'd happily let it write the PR title and description, that's the part I always half-ass. letting an agent resolve conflicts on its own though, I'd still want to eyeball that before it goes anywhere near our billing code

Amazing. One qs- will the agent also sync-up with the latest Bot open comment as soon as pushed or till the conflict only it will resolve?

who reviews the pr the agent wrote and merged?
