Can someone please explain to me how short-term, temporary Obamacare subsidies passed during COVID suddenly became untouchable? Not a single Republican voted to extend these COVID subsidies in 2021 or 2022. We all recognized that Obamacare is a total disaster. Premiums have skyrocketed because of the ACA. ObamaCare: Consumer Deception and Taxpayer Fraud ObamaCare subsidy fraud occurs because government agencies care little when spending taxpayers’ money, and insurers and brokers have every incentive not to stop it. As Americans wake up to ObamaCare subsidy fraud, we should remember: the root problem is the unaffordable, low value ObamaCare itself. What they really want is to reopen the Medicaid loopholes that allow illegal immigrants to access Medicaid, and they want to spend almost $400B to prop up Obamacare subsidies that go straight to insurance companies and NOT you, the patient. And to justify it? They lie. They tell you your premiums will double if they don’t get their way. That is total bullshit. The truth is that the CBO has already scored this. The expiration of those subsidies accounts for just 8% of any premium increase. Is that worth debating? Yes, of course it is. The entire system is flawed because Democrats designed it to be flawed when they created Obamacare. We could start by talking about how subsidies should go to your personal Health Savings Account instead of insurance companies.
