It wasn't just the deductible to hurt the working class. If you earned too much money, the subsidies were less, forcing one to either pay extremely high premiums (for useless insurance) or not earn a decent living. It was set up to fail to force government reliance/control.

ACA was garbage. They knew it was so they exempted themselves. We had great insurance that I paid for before ACA. My health insurance became unaffordable once Obamacare came out. Went up to 10k a year with a 12k deductible. Who has 22k to throw out every year before insurance covers anything ? So we are without insurance. Then this year my kiddo gets sent to the hospital and now is being tossed between specialist. I'm just praying to save her eyesight. My daughter's life and eyesight matter but you put us in the position we are now in. The bills are racking up while they try to figure out what is going on. How or if I can pay the bills, who knows. He's right! Low income Americans already had Medicaid. They could have raised the Medicaid threshold, created a catastrophic insurance pool, passed legislation for the coverage of pre-existing conditions. The market would have adjusted just like now we have Urgent Care and pay as you go clinics as alternatives to emergency room care. Please repeal 100% of Obamacare, including the three places it hits our tax returns. We r paying $1,400 a month for 2 people and I have a $3,000 deductible, so everything except my annual visit is out of pocket. It sucks!

When I was on the ACA exchange I had a policy with no deductibles & it cost the same as my ins that was provided by former employer w/a larger deductible. By the way ppl who are not in the country legally do not qualify for fed. coverage under ACA exchange, medicaid, Medicare etc

Here are some of the things that used to be excluded. Pre Natal care, mammograms, colonoscopies, any pre existing condition, and the list goes on and on. Exactly deductibles are 4-8k copays are $75 and premiums are $1600 for 2 people it’s crazy. Someone I know was billed $1200 for a psychologist Nurse practitioner and insurance ultimately paid $700 and out of pocket was still $300 ! They need to create a catastrophe only insurance and pay out of pocket for the rest .
