It’s debates like this that always show that most debates are just semantics. It’s always good to ask people to define what they mean, so that way you can have a productive discussion.

That’s what I said!! Lol it’s funny I watched this fight at MSG. I didn’t even realize this was a debate like a week after the fight.

Yes. Undoubtedly. All four limbs hit the ground.

Do you think the matter of time should be considered cause he got up pretty fast?

In wresting-yes, mma-who knows. One thing tho, even if you give Usman 10-8 first, Colby could have won this fight. This round could be a 10-8 for Colby due to the blatant fence grab. All hypothetical of course

For me im mma a TD is more of what you do with them, unless it’s a damaging TD like a slam. Ya know?

“According to the UFC's stat-recording process, which is determined by FightMetric, a takedown is awarded when a fighter deliberately grapples his opponent to the ground and establishes an advantageous position for an appreciable amount of time.” So under this definition it’s pretty clear to me this is not a takedown. BUT feel free to disagree with this definition…. I wouldn’t but hey free country lol.

One more thing to add! Since TDs do count as effective grappling and do get scored and since mma judges don’t look at stats, I wonder if mma judges have a different definition of a TD then the stat keeper 🤔
