I don't know why White women bother with having these hairstyles done, but you can tell that the braider did it as tight as possible to maximise pain. And the OP and the commenters support that theory. They just enjoy inflicting pain. It's who they are. And they're not going to change just because you're nice to them, so stop trying. Don't be friendly to them. Don't buy anything from their businesses. Don't pay pay for their services. Just disengage from them entirely.
