Enter the staking amount considering factors like the amount you’ll need for transaction fees, AVAIL holdings, the lockup period, and your staking goals. 4. These two new referenda propose staking updates to optimize network security while cutting costs through stronger validator incentives and lower nominator risks. Referendum #1909 builds on the 10,000 DOT validator self-stake minimum by adding self-stake rewards, setting validator commissions to 0%, and allowing permissionless chilling of under-bonded validators Referendum #1910 removes nominator slashing and reduces the unbonding period to 48 hours, rebalancing responsibilities to simplify participation as highlighted in the post's staking graphic In summary, both proposals seek to rebalance staking responsibilities between validators and nominators by increasing incentives for validator self-stake while simplifying participation for nominators
