LinkedIn’s new AI feature (presumably to help users learn further?) is just weird. Product teams should avoid AI features for the sake of AI.

Maybe it's not meant for folks like you but the next million users who don't have a clue about several industries.

It is. When I had first noticed and played around, it felt like those generic chatbots in bank websites, useless. Maybe they’ll make the auto-generated questions unique to each user to make it relevant, but right now it just takes up space.

If you dislike this, then you should see the AI assisted answers when you ask questions about job descriptions or companies. "Am I a good fit?"; "Who is the hiring manger?"; "Who in my network can I talk with to learn more about X?"; "What is the company's operating revenue?"

What could have been a better idea here to test was if they had a approach. So people could get suggestions to ask your AI twin follow up questions to get more nuance on the posts. This looked just plain weird.

Haven’t tried Delphi but unfortunately the current LLMs don’t do a poor job of understanding and conveying the nuances of my existing writing. It’s all Apple Pie Positions like “Shreyas would say you should talk to customers, execute relentlessly, test your hypotheses…”

LinkedIn is extremely broken. Even their "suggested post" algo is pretty bad.

LinkedIn was on a roll for a while, but seem to have caught ShinyNewThingItis.

They need to stop making LinkedIn worse than it already is 😑
