Was expecting the end to just pop a little “login:” line. 😂

It did, it was below the tear line so not visible. Loon at the first line ot has the buildroot login printed from my last attempt.

cat /dev/mem or /dev/usb/lp0 😂

Haha, these aren't good enough to be on lp0, just tx wired to ttyS0

@TelepathicPug RX rather, right?

@TelepathicPug Right

One step closer to Linux on desktop

2026 is the year of linux on desktop, we already got the printer working

Believe it or not, I could have done that in 1997 with the linux based brake test equipment I used to develop (used for producing thermally printed graphs of brake response of trucks).

Oh I believe you, the idea came from watching 80s mini computers "boot" on typewriter terminals

Remember to clear the screen so you can reuse the paper 😂

So dope

Chernobyl SKALA computer on the 26th of april 1986:

@TimelessP Wohoo scroll history. Physically. Tamper safe!

so that's what it means by printf()...

Thank gawd the monitor was invented....

it’d be cool to run doom and have it print it out 🤌

I have one hooked up for my access logs 😂

Cool

О, прям вывод на терминал мэйнфреймов /360 /370 )

Hold up, gotta check receiptctl

UEFI not found!

why is your boot starting with a login prompt

There is a reason it’s called System.out.println(); in most programming languages lol - nice project

this is brilliant but very narrow. ed is your friend.

That's a pretty fast thermal printer. Nice!

beauty

Bahahahahahahaha!

why?

Effects on unemployment are setting in

credits?

Me lol

I hate Fedora 44's 45 second boot time. I think it's due to KDE's new poorly coded proprietary login manager and replacing cat with bat. Rust is so damn slow.

@michy234tv i must see a live tty on this

You need new paper roll for each boot , but it would be fun 😄

This is real-unreal engine.

I missed physical output.

make it print bad apple

Reminds me of a video where a guy tried gaming on a receipt printer... It printed every frame

quiet loglevel=0 Safe some paper

To be honest if there is a way to make this paper be white again for almost infinity rolls it will be a great way to use terminal without hurting your eyes

OKay you can go back home now Sarup.
