listen to the spoon

I’ve seen/heard this from somewhere before. I like the overall message, but parts of it always came across as needlessly accusatory. There’s plenty of people who hold onto guilt WHILE working towards being different. Guilt is often a weight rather than a roadblock.

A spoon makes me have an existential crisis

lately i’ve found that whenever i’m mentally beating myself up l or feeling guilty over something i shouldnt, i just imagine what i would say to my best friend if she was in the same situation. it’s a bit silly feeling at first but it’s rly helped me learn to be kinder to myself

Does the spoon have anything to say about PTSD? Anything about confronting the realities of death at 6 years old?

it's ok to feel sad or angry or scared idt you should ever "try" to feel happy (or even anything else) i just want you to know that you won't always feel like this and it ends. you've gotten through so many difficult obstacles before this. i dont want you to give up on yourself

@CatSkillsClips I wish I could believe that. Everyone says it gets better, but some wounds cut deep. Trying my best to change since I was 18, but the fear & hypervigilance has gotten worse. Spoon's message makes it feel like it's my fault I can't heal. PTSD sucks. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

@lilyhops It gets better. It doesnt go away. The first step is identifying those automatic defenses inside you, that maybe you dont need any more. Unfounded fear, and negative self talk Once you notice it, you can begin to learn to work around it.

As someone that went through very intense therapy for CPTSD this hits hard, and it's incredibly appreciated. If you want to "punish" yourself, don't take the easy route. Do the hard thing. Go to therapy. Ask yourself the hard questions. Put the work in. Believe you can heal.

It's a good message, but also I feel very afraid

This the type of NPC you find in OMORI lmfao

Sometimes the suffering feels like the only thing about me that's real. It's comfortable, familiar. Sometimes there's no incentive to change. When self-love is impossible, and the only thing that could make you whole is forever out of reach, suffering is all you have left.

It's easy to forgive others, but forgiving myself always seems like im asking the world of myself. But I am trying

so true spoonfie

A beautiful message, although a hard one to follow for some, not because we don't want to, but because it's already deeply rooted into us.

What do I do if it's not a choice and I have no idea where all the guilt and shame comes from or why it never stops

Wistfullspoony, they're on Instagram mostly

It's weird. Logically, everything seems right and I can agree with the concept of moving past your regrets to change for the sake of constructive progress, but yet I have a hard time accepting it. I don't think I can work to keep moving forward without the weight of regret.

Fork been silent since this drop.

Thank you wisdom spoon and lily, much needed!

humiliation rituals are bad. Acknowledgment and moving on is ACTUAL accountability. "I did a bad thing. I can't change the past. I can change my future."

i dont feel guilt because i did nothing wrong and my way of life is righteous

@iamroot443 Well, I was having a good day.

Its very long

Dang

where's the paperclip? is he safe? is he alright?

What if I don't deserve to heal

Spoon that I’m about to beat to death for calling me out like that Spoon is right and I’m mad >:(

rt

@ScegeVT Penance keeps me grounded. I'm afraid of forgiving myself.

Fuck. I'm dumber than a spoon.

What the scorchlander said to the depressed skeleton after their hundredth mope session:

I initially loved listening to this but as I listened to it the more I started to hear it as one of those generic ass youtube self-help videos that has like a generic ai generated guy voice. I still think the message is good and I love the vibe but now I can't unhear this.

Why lil spoon dropping bitter truths all of the sudden?
