horror can't be 100% tension all the time. comedy is a great way to break tension and provide moments of relief before throwing the audience back into stress and fear. it's part of what makes the franchise so lovable to me. that and it makes the characters feel more real.

Resident evil is a horror franchise with great horror that's written with alot of witty and comedic dialogue and it's at its best whenever they perfectly balanced both those aspects :]

The most iconic part in RE for me it's just a piece of dialogue from a diary. Dark and terrifying downward spiral the disease cause in someone. The T-Virus is not only gruesome, but made you loose you sanity piece by piece, and make you eat it.

No one said the games don't have jokes. The point is that the tone of the movie isn't consistent with the games, which don't have quips literally every few minutes.

You're taking funny moments from games that take hours of survival horror to complete, whereas the movie is only 90 minutes long and features comedy elements every five minutes. So yeah totally accurate.

You're misunderstanding camp and comedy, also none of the jokes or comedic instances in Creggars movie are comparable to how it's presented in the games. Creggars movie read more like dead island at times.
