QVAC SDK 0.14.0 is live. This release makes the on-device stack faster on mobile, ships the developer-agent path, and takes local text-to-speech to 31 languages. Main highlights: - OpenCode and OpenClaw. The first official OpenCode plugin, plus a maintained OpenClaw compatibility path, both built on managed mode and qvac serve. Point a coding agent at a local model with far less setup and far fewer surprises. - Brain-computer interface transcription, on the SDK. Take recorded neural signal data and decode it into text, fully on-device, no cloud. Stream it in chunks through a simple API. In 0.14 it runs GPU-accelerated on iOS. - Text to Speech in 31 languages with our Supertonic3 upgrade. VOICE AND SPEECH - Supertonic3 multilingual TTS, 5 languages to 31. - Chatterbox and Supertonic now run on the Android GPU, with lower memory use (especially on iOS), quantized s3gen Chatterbox support, and a fix for Chatterbox occasionally emitting random speech. - Whisper transcription now runs on the iOS GPU. Parakeet runs on the Android GPU, with steadier real-time streaming. VISION AND OCR - VLM multi-tile batching: high-resolution Pan and Scan images are encoded in one pass instead of tile by tile, for faster vision throughput. - OCR on ggml (EasyOCR and DocTR) reaches full speed parity with the onnx path, across Metal, OpenCL, and Vulkan. PLATFORM AND RELIABILITY - Dynamic compute backends on Linux: one build picks the right backend at runtime, and opens the door to ROCm and CUDA support without per-backend builds. - Thinking tokens are kept out of the model context, so reasoning no longer fills the KV cache. SDK 0.14.0 is now leaner and faster to start. Let’s build.

This is not an AI tool. This is not an AI assistant. naïve is something the world has never seen before. Every AI product you've used until now made you better at doing the work, faster writing, faster coding, faster research. You were still doing the work. AI was just helping you do it quicker. Naive is a completely different category. You don't use Naive to do the work. You hire Naive to run the business. You describe what you want. Naive spins up a full team of AI employees and hands you a company that's already operating: 🤝 A sales rep booking meetings while you sleep 📈 An SEO manager publishing and ranking content on autopilot 💻 A full-stack engineer shipping production code without review 💰 A finance manager reconciling accounts and generating reports 🔍 A recruiting agent sourcing and reaching out to candidates 🎧 A support agent resolving tickets and tracking satisfaction scores Each employee has their own email inbox, bank account, phone number, legal entity, and compute environment. They never ask you for help. They share context, delegate tasks, and coordinate as a fully functioning team, extracting patterns from every outcome and getting smarter over time. You set a budget. You define the goal. You walk away. This is not productivity software. This is not a chatbot with a nice interface. This is a new category of company creation that did not exist until now. The numbers speak for themselves: ✅ Hundreds of founders already launched on the platform 📊 Active businesses growing 32% week over week ⚡ Tasks completed growing 42% week over week 💵 Real ARR being generated with zero human employees Every AI tool you've ever used made you a better worker. Naive makes you an owner. 👉 Launch your business today → #NaïveAI2B9YHR

This might be the best "AI Engineer" I've tried so far. I'm an old school developer who started 30 years ago. I feel very uncomfortable letting AI take control of my code, but for the sake of science, I spent two hours building an application that took me weeks to build a couple of years ago. I used Pythagora, a brand new tool backed by Y Combinator. They just released to the public. Keep in mind that I use AI every day to write code, but Pythagora is something different: it's a tool that leads, and uses you—the human—as the copilot. I go into more details in the video, but here is the TLDR; 1. Holy molly! We've made a ton of progress on this front! This is way better than Devin when I tested it a few months back. 2. Love the approach of generating a plan with sub-tasks before writing any code. 3. The tools never tries to do too much: it tackles every small task one at a time, and gives you instructions so you test everything. 4. It does exactly what you'd do when it gets stuck: writes a bunch of logs and uses those to correct itself. Pretty neat! 5. It's fast. It runs locally. It's an extension to Visual Studio Code. I'm impressed, but I don't think this tool is for me. I'm not the type of developer who's ready to relinquish control. I felt I had no connection with the code because I didn't write it. It was not my code. I know many people who don't care about this. I know many people who will get tremendous value out of Pythagora. I hope they keep pushing the limits, providing feedback, and helping this get to a point where old folks like me feel more comfortable using it. Don't take my word for it. The best thing you can do is to give it a try and see how you feel using it. Thanks to the team who built this, for all of the explanations and support, and especially, for sitting and listening to my dumb questions for 2 hours while I tested this.

Dylan Patel on the importance of memory and storage Two key quotes: "An $NVDA GPU is faster than an $AMD GPU in most cases, but because AMD GPUs have more memory, they can outperform Nvidia in certain workloads." “It is a difficult, multivariable problem. Generally, you need the best GPU, such as a GB300, but you also need the best storage solutions. I will not spoil who comes out on top, but storage solutions matter a lot, memory solutions matter a lot, and frontend networking also matters significantly" Full Quote: “We have over $80 million of compute: GPUs from $NVDA and $AMD, TPUs from Google, and Trainium from Amazon. We constantly run this benchmark using the newest inference engines, drivers, PyTorch versions, and other software. It runs every day through automated CI across the latest Chinese models from GLM, Zhipu, Moonshot, Kimi, Alibaba, and others. Initially, when we were benchmarking the differences between these chips, inference engines, and parallelism schemes, we used fixed context lengths. But with Agent X, we have now analyzed more than $5 million worth of Claude Code traces. This is real production traffic that users have donated to us, combined with internally generated data, so we now understand what an actual agent workload looks like. When we implement those workloads and run the benchmarks, it turns out that the chip you are using is very important, but how you handle memory offload can be even more important. An Nvidia GPU is faster than an AMD GPU in most cases, but because AMD GPUs have more memory, they can outperform Nvidia in certain workloads. Similarly, you can use a less powerful GPU with a much better storage solution and outperform the best GPU when it lacks those solutions. Simply buying the newest GPU does not necessarily give you the best inference economics. You need to layer in other innovations, including storage and memory.” Interviewer: “Who is the top player on your chart? Can you tell us?” Dylan Patel: “It is a difficult, multivariable problem. Generally, you need the best GPU, such as a GB300, but you also need the best storage solutions. I will not spoil who comes out on top, but storage solutions matter a lot, memory solutions matter a lot, and frontend networking also matters significantly.”

Memex is in public beta (again) We closed down our signups earlier this year when we launched Memex' collaboration features. Over the past 12 months we've been working hard to polish the product and if you haven't used Memex in a while you may want to try it again. For quick summary of what we've added last year you can watch the attached video or read on. Some highlights: 👯‍♂️ Collaboratively curate, annotate and discuss websites, PDFs and videos. (see video) 📣 Share and collaborate with people who don't use the Memex extension with our new web reader. 🤖 AI assistant to summarise & ask questions about websites, PDFs, YouTube videos and text/video sections. ▶️ Video timestamp annotations, including smart notes 📸 Frame snapshot annotations on Youtube ✍🏽 Annotate illustrations on PDFs 💎 Obsidian & Logseq live sync 🌆 Image Support for annotations 🌙 Dark & Light mode redesign 🐦 Use Memex as a CRM for Twitter & Telegram: Organise/search/filter profiles and annotate chat logs + 200 bug fixes and dozens of quality of life improvements. What's next? 🔓 Private spaces with email invites (in polish) 📱 Native in-browser annotations & search on mobile (in progress) 🗂️ Nesting Spaces for better organisation (in design) Transferrable Lifetime Subscription Deal We've also launched a limited offer for a transferrable lifetime subscription. For $400 you can use all Memex features until you hopefully die at an old age - and if you don't need it anymore you can gift or sell it to someone else. We wanted to make our early supporters benefit greatly from the improvements to the product we're going to make even if they stop using Memex. Our hope is that it'll also help us stay more independent from venture capital pressure as a Steward Owned business. For more info, check out our website (in our bio)

I've been building a music player with Next.js for fun. Here's a quick demo of how it works (it's open source!) • Demo: • Code: If you want to learn more about how it's built, here's more details ↓ I'm using Postgres (with Drizzle) to store information about the songs and playlists. Audio and image files are stored in Vercel Blob (object storage), and the URLs are then referenced in the database. For the UI, I'm using shadcn/ui (so Tailwind CSS and Radix). This made it easy to copy/paste in some nice components, like the dropdown menus. I built the entire first version of the UI in v0 and then iterated from there, feeding it my Drizzle schema as a source in the project and having it scaffold some of the boilerplate for me: I added support for keyboard navigation (using arrow keys) or vim motions (j/k to go up/down, and h/l to go between playlists and tracks). Also, space to toggle the now playing song, and / to focus the search input. The search function has a nice utility to highlight the currently searched text on the page in yellow. Then, I was exploring how to pass metadata from my application to macOS or iOS. Turns out there's an API for that – MediaSession. Web apps can share metadata about what media is playing (title, artist, album artwork) and sync play/pause/seek with system media controls. Works across modern browsers — even integrates with iOS dynamic island and shows up on lock screens: I set up my app like a PWA – it has a manifest.json file, so it can be installed to my iOS home screen or added to my dock on macOS. On iOS, it then uses the full screen height `100dvh` (dynamic viewport) and has padding on the bottom for the safe area with the `env()` CSS function. Finally, I was able to use the Vercel AI SDK in a script to clean up the metadata on audio files I downloaded from YouTube. Bonus: I even was able to dogfood the React Compiler, which helped me fix a performance bug! That's all! It's fun to make personal software:
