#WATCH | Kalaburagi, Karnataka: On the Karnataka High Court's decision to stay the state government's cabinet decision to withdraw 52 criminal cases, BJP MLC N. Ravi Kumar says, “An incident occurred in the Aland Taluk of Kalaburagi district—a major clash involving Hindu and Muslim communities—centred on the issue of the Raghavachaitanya Temple. Cases were filed against both Hindus and Muslims; however, the government decided to withdraw all cases registered against Muslims following a cabinet meeting. The matter reached the High Court, which issued a stay, deeming the withdrawal of these cases improper. This outcome vindicates the agitation led by the BJP; the High Court has delivered justice and effectively rebuked the government for its policy of appeasement towards one community at the expense of Hindus. We demand that the government, and D.K. Shivakumar specifically, apologise for attempting to withdraw these cases…”

Subpoena records from court cases show that Google and Amazon home devices are listening and recording everything in your home, at all times, and saving it “This has been established now in several court cases where the courts have gotten access to records of sounds within a home, where, let's say, one spouse has attacked another. So it's a spousal abuse case. And so the court will subpoena records from Google or from Amazon, which runs Alexa. And in every case that I'm aware of, these companies have eventually turned over the recordings.”

For every 25 court cases listed in the Government's official records, 24 are incomplete or wrong. Yet the Government wants to delete the country's biggest and most accurate court database. What are they scared of? What are they trying to hide?

Ashwini Upadhyay has filed a fresh PIL in the Supreme Court seeking strict action against fake rape and SC/ST cases. He has urged the Court to direct Govt institutions to prominently display the legal consequences of filing false cases within their premises. We are still surviving in this cruel Republic because of thousands of selfless people like Ashwini Upadhyay.

"The issues that have led to this action have been about 20 years in the making. Since 2005 we've sustained a continuous barrage of reduction in funding for Criminal Legal Aid work. "The cases are becoming increasingly more complicated & more demanding. "Our members are now spending 60/70 hours per week working on these cases, trying to perform to a very, very high standard; a standard of care that we owe to victims & defendants in each & every one of these cases." Chair of the Criminal Bar Association (CBA) Gavan Duffy KC discusses why criminal barristers will no longer receive new instructions in Category A cases, some of the most serious of offences. #AccessToJusticeInCrisis
