A juvenile rider chose to flee from deputies through a residential neighborhood, reaching speeds and taking risks that endangered everyone nearby. Riding carelessly, the rider narrowly avoided crashing into a fence that could have resulted in serious injury. Too often, riders treat e-bikes like toys. They are not. E-bikes can travel at high speeds and, when operated recklessly, become a danger to pedestrians, motorists, and the riders themselves. If a deputy attempts to stop you, stop. Running from law enforcement is not a game, and it is not without consequences. Intentionally fleeing from deputies can result in felony eluding charges or other criminal and traffic offenses. Our deputies are committed to keeping our neighborhoods safe and safety is a shared responsibility. Parents, know where your children are riding and talk with them about following traffic laws and respecting law enforcement. One poor decision can change a life forever. Ride responsibly.

Parents, electric dirt bikes are NOT e-bikes. Walton County Sheriff's Office, Florida is seeing an increase in electric dirt bikes, also called “e-motos”, being ridden in neighborhoods and on public roads. Monday, six of these electric dirt bikes were impounded and citations were issued to juveniles 11-14 years old. Many Do NOT have pedals, have high-powered motors, and are designed only for off-road use. Under Florida law, these vehicles are NOT street legal. It’s illegal to ride electric dirt bikes or "e-motos" on public roads, bike lanes, and sidewalks in Walton County. Driving an unregistered, electric dirt bike on a public road can lead to citations, fines, impoundment, and a mandatory court date. Parents are responsible for making sure e-motos are used legally and safely. Even if it was a gift for Christmas and thought to be an e-bike, many of these are electric dirt bikes and the rules of the road are different. Allowing a child to ride an e-moto on streets or sidewalks puts them and everyone around them at serious risk. The Baltimore Police Department emailed The Sun a statement saying it is ramping up enforcement operations against dirt bikes. But they did not respond to specific questions about its strategy. Y'all, we need to talk about e-bikes, dirt bikes and off-road vehicles. A group of our PAR officers were working proactive patrol a few weeks back when they were alerted to a group of people on off-road dirt bikes, e-bikes and four wheelers traveling on East Colfax. Our officers found the riders and observed them doing wheelies, weaving in and out of traffic and quite literally ignoring any and all traffic laws. The group continued down Colfax, but officers lost sight of them due to their erratic driving. Our Real Time Information Center used city cameras to help track the riders. They were seen continuing to drive recklessly. The group eventually pulled into a gas station; unaware we were hot on their trail. When officers pulled in with their lights activated, the group ran. Five got away. One did not. 30-year-old Noel Loya Payan was arrested at the gas station without further incident. He is facing charges including careless driving, obstruction, prohibited use of an off-highway vehicle on a public roadway, weaving and failure to obey traffic signals. He also had a warrant out of Northglenn. This time it was adults treating our streets like their personal playground. But more often than not, it is juveniles. Teenagers riding vehicles they should not be operating and doing so recklessly on busy roads. It’s not just a nuisance to other drivers, it’s also illegal. Aurora city code already prohibits off highway vehicles like dirt bikes from being used on any public roads, trails, sidewalks or parks within city limits. Parents or guardians who knowingly allow minors to ride them in the city can face a minimum $250 fine. Whether you're 15 or 30, our streets are not a racetrack. Ride responsibly. My take on this is I feel more officers should take the time to educate the E-bike riders and let them know the consequences of riding in the street and why it’s illegal to do so. So much misinformation about them is out there and I know most kids are gonna do it anyways because they don’t care but it could stop some from doing it. This officer explains to him what’s going to happen to them if they keep riding the E-bikes in the street. This gives them fair warning in advance that they are going to be ticketed and have their bikes impounded. Many parents don’t pay attention to what their kids do until it affects their pockets. People are criticizing the police for targeting them and labeling them a nuisance. If I saw a group of 30 bikes blocking the road and acting reckless, I would be concerned as well. I feel this officer was being patient and fair to him, do you think the police are overreacting?

Our focus is on taking dangerous, illegally-modified e-bikes off London's streets and helping keep everyone safe. This year alone, officers have seized more than 2,500 illegal e-bikes, with 4,500 seized since January 2025.

Adding the problem of asking money from the families and friends of the deceased is even gross. We should condole with, help to pay up the debts of the deceased and seek goodness for the family, not add to their misery or compound their suffering. May Allah rectify our affairs. Āmīn.

The June 19 footage appears to show a woman reaching into the water from the pool's edge. The investigation comes after the Reflecting Pool became the center of controversy when President Trump's resurfacing effort was followed by peeling paint and algae that turned the intended "American Flag Blue" water green. Trump says several people have already been arrested or cited for alleged damage, and repairs are underway.
