That's a wrap on Alif Summit. We set out ~2 months ago with one goal: to bring the brightest Muslim builders from across the world under one roof. And we did it to prove a point — that as a community, it's time to raise the bar of what we think we're capable of. To move beyond trying to build the best "Muslim" version of anything, and shoot directly for building the best. And this weekend, it felt like we made real progress towards that. Alhamdulilah. So, I’m from Israel, and I don’t speak English fluently. I arrived for a Tesla vacation 12 days ago, and since then, we’ve traveled about 5,000 kilometers to experience all of Elon’s and Tesla’s factories. Yesterday, a version update arrived, and now we have Grok in the Tesla. So, starting today, I supervise the car while FSD drives, and Jonathan and I can each speak in our native language. Tesla offers technology that no one else has. I’m simply amazed.

Took a while, but finally got one lesson going, in an installable Apk. This is a screen recording of the App from my phone. (The poor video cutting also done by me😂. There was audio, but the cutting made it sound weird.) This is a "testnet" lesson. We are still changing quite a bit of it. Don't read too much into it. This version is mainly for me to confirm that we got a complete team that can actually produce something. This involved a lot more than what meets the eye. We had to design the characters, the content, make animations, make audio, use a game engine, and a whole bunch of developers. 😂 Will find a way to streamline the process going forward. Keep building.

Lewis: I am a line cook at the Omni Hotel in Chicago. As line cooks, we tend to get really bogged down in the passion of what we’re doing. We want to focus not just on making food, but on creating something that fills the stomach, feeds the body, and nourishes the soul—something people will have a pleasant memory of. A couple of years ago, we realized that sometimes we get so wrapped up in that passion that we ignore the fact that we’ve historically faced some pretty gnarly treatment in the kitchen: really long workdays without a break, low pay, cuts, burns, and verbal abuse from chefs. And we were just smiling through it—almost wearing it as a badge of honor. But it’s not. When we organized into the union at the Omni Hotel, we saw an opportunity to protect our passion and continue practicing our craft—while no longer tolerating low wages, poor treatment, lack of healthcare, or being treated with anything less than respect and dignity.

Pie & Mash 🍽 : Glorious footage from the 80s displaying the greatest meal on earth being prepared for sale. I still remember the days when I was tiny, and my beautiful grandmother took me to Manze's in Walthamstow (now long gone). Today, people argue over it being good or bad, though most to complain have not tried it or don't understand the process. But whether you want to admit it or not, It's a damn sight better than the mass majority of food sold today. The conveyor belt of custom kept it all fresh while many places today have meat sitting around for days or longer. Also, at the end of it all, it's an important custom in southern England. If the government won't respect that, the least we can do as citizens is to do so for each other. Far too often do we argue over our customs instead show understanding as to their importance. 🤝⏳️
