Parsi: There is no doubt that we have now, after 20 years of hearing from the hawks, that the only solution is to go to war, we tried it. One third of the U.S. Navy was there in the region. This was not a small operation. This was a major operation short of an actual invasion, and it failed. There is just no doubt that the military operation was not a success. And hopefully, at a minimum, we will not be having that debate again. It has now been settled. It's no longer a theoretical or academic topic. It has been tried, proven to be a failure.

This is from today's #WCWS game. This was ruled a base hit when it happened (you can see the 'H' pop up), but was changed to a missed catch error by the first baseman at the bottom of the fourth. This is an impossible catch for the first baseman with a ball thrown from that angle, that hard. This throw has to be to the glove, and while it's not a wild throw, it's low enough that the first baseman cannot get her glove around it in time. This is where replay gets you in trouble. The slo-mo replay makes it look like it's a catchable ball, but it isn't. In real time, at live speed, this isn't an error. This isn't a missed catch or a drop. I was loving the call of a single, especially because it was the first hit, and then, when it was changed, it felt like it was to protect a no-hitter. Everything about this screams "above ordinary effort" ... I would have left this as a single.

New video of what is a supposed UAP being struck by a Hellfire missile: Analysis What isn’t discussed at the hearing nor anyone who doesn’t have exposure to footage like this is the fact that the Hellfire missile doesn’t appear to detonate. This is important as it shows the missile only clipping the object, which most likely is a drone. If the missile doesn’t detonate and only clips one of the rotors of a drone (if that’s what this is), then it would explain why the drone could potentially recover and carry on…to a distance longer than the video shows but we don’t know how far that actually was. It could have eventually crashed in the water. Also, important to note that the authorization to use that munition signifies that the user was given a green light at targeting a potential threat. This isn’t done lightly. This means that it was identified enough to a degree to be a potential threat (like an adversarial drone) and was intentionally targeted. That wouldn’t happen if it was a truly unidentified objects or actual alien space ship. They would observe until it was deemed to be hostile in nature. This could also be a potential C-UAS test strike on the efficiencies of targeting in-flight drones with conventional munitions and how accurate they are. But more information needs to be presented to determine that. In conclusion, this appears to be nothing more than a failed strike of what was claimed to be a Hellfire missile on a traveling drone. The munition did not detonate, clipping the object but only to a degree that it still had flight capability after.

Here's the all-22 view of this play. Yes, Johnson is open initially, but even from a clean pocket that ball is going to have to be in the air for a long time. I'm not buying that he's out-running Grant Delpit. Like being aggressive with the lead and like this play design, but not sure the juice was worth the squeeze in this situation

A young boy was caught on camera taking off running up the street and the person filming had no idea whether to call for help or what to do - they noted he may be autistic which adds a completely different layer to this situation. Whether that is the case or not a child running alone in the street is dangerous regardless of the reason and the priority is always getting that child safe first. If you ever see a child running alone and in potential danger do not hesitate - call 911 immediately and stay with the child until help arrives. How would you have handled this? You may be the only person standing between that kid and a serious accident.

Jetran, owner of Boeing 777-200LR N705DN, just issued a statement on that risky test flight maneuver in Texas. They’re not happy with the crew’s actions, stressing the aircraft isn’t Qatar Airways’ yet — no Qatar pilots were onboard. The plane is still theirs during passenger-to-cargo conversion by Mammoth Freighters. Jetran expects a full investigation and accountability for those responsible. That right wingtip was extremely close to the ground on that pass. When I first watched it I thought I was going to be watching a crash. Extremely reckless. The aircraft according to data if correct was at 760ft, the airport is at 722ft.
